    Domestic Violence

Abuse is a huge problem indeed; what I would also say is that instant solutions advocated by secularists outside the fear of God do not take into account of the resources of the grace of God.

    Domestic Violence

    Not sure what you mean...

    Domestic Violence

Well, in the situation you are considering, if the man and the woman are both real Christians, then whether one or both of them have "a past" needs to be clear in the minds of both, and both need to be in a state of heart peace and forgiveness to the effect that both are now walking with the Lord.

    Domestic Violence

Well, in terms of NT word studies, where fornication and adultery are considered together, fornication refers to pre-marital activity while adultery is within marriage. I know ppl sometimes use the terms interchangeably.

    Domestic Violence

I don't see that adultery in itself dissolves a marriage, it does play extreme havoc to it; there is a distinction there, though. If adultery were deemed ipso facto to dissolve a marriage, then there would be no room in theory for grace to intervene.

Faith-based tattoo: as a result of one, did you ever talk with someone? (Poll included)

@TLHKAJ Very good and important and a blessing, I'm sure! (These days for the communication to include thoughts about the ink event at around 18 would not be unusual, either...)

    Domestic Violence

1 Corinthians 7 says '...but and if she depart...', maybe foreseeing that there will be extreme situations.

    Judgment On Surrounding Nations

Solemn words. Good to remember also that the mission of the church now is to evangelize rather than to wreak judgment and punishment on the nations, however sorely deserved.

    Domestic Violence

1 Cor. 7 does not seem to push remarriage either. (Not does Romans 7).

@soul man Whether regarded as a craze, or whether regarded as a benign, natural event, when young ppl around 18 do it now it's hardly regarded as some act of rebellion especially if mom (and even gramma) have already had it done also.

    "The Sin Of The World"

@soul man The word of God is indeed so searching. John 17.17; Hebrews 4.12.

The Bible and The American Revolution

I suppose another question which could be asked is, Whether the Botany Bay originals were heroes? In the Old Testament there were things that made ppl look back to for wisdom. Some things that had previously happened and did not turn out well were also instructive. What the believer can do is...

    Changed

@soul man I think of Charles Wesley's words: "...changed from glory into glory, till in heaven we take our place, till we cast our crowns before thee, lost in wonder, love, and praise."

    Worship Songs

@Hidden In Him Hard rock has now been around a long time...some Christian bands have been strongly influenced by it.

What's the weather like where you are?

Sunny and dry today. It's clear the average temperatures are getting cooler.

    In Christ Death

There was a book by John Owen called 'The death of death in the death of Christ'. J I Packer much later wrote a forward to it.

    Worship Songs

@TLHKAJ Memory does play an important part in the kind of Christian music we appreciate. 1 Samuel 7.12.
