My point was that in Scripture where the two words fornication and adultery occur, fornication seems to refer to premarital activity, while adultery refers to something that happens within marriage. This was the point of my comment.

I'm not sure that what you may see in 1 Cor. 7 and Romans 7 accords with an understanding of the Christian principles they express: divorce (or remarriage) do not seem to be in view here.

I agree about the catastrophic nature of abuse. I don't see how one gets divorce out of passages such as 1 Cor. 7 or Romans 7. I do see how God supplies grace day by day in the most intense of situations, Isaiah 48.10.

Beyond context, I sense that you are wanting in any case to promote divorce and remarriage: this might not be your stated intent but it seems that the balance of your contributions points in this direction.

I don't see so called plural marriage in a local church context in the NT.

The grace of God may intervene so that his heart is changed. Romans 7.3 has a comment.
