Will there be or is there a need for a future Messianic age?

Did Jesus make it so that people didn't need to go to Jerusalem to worship and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles only to inexplicably make that a requirement again in the future? John 4:19 “Sir,” the woman said, “I can see that you are a prophet. 20 Our ancestors worshiped on this mountain, but...

Will there be or is there a need for a future Messianic age?

Where does it say that? What is their reward exactly? Because that isn't taught in scripture. But, you're welcome to show me where it is taught, if you can. The hope of eternal life is what we currently have. We don't actually inherit eternal life until Christ returns, as Matthew 25:31-46...

Will there be or is there a need for a future Messianic age?

Yes, I suppose the act of physically destroying the wicked can be seen as a form of judgment, but we are talking about the judging of the dead here. They are already dead, so it's not referring to the judgment of the living by way of physically killing them. But, is that a judgment of the dead...

    Why I'm Premil

What I find to be absurd is your insistence on the existence of Christian nations when scripture itself never teaches such a thing. I don't find it absurd at all to not believe in your "Christian nations" doctrine when it's not taught in scripture anywhere. I guess the rest of us find it...

    Why I'm Premil

I don't personally find your logic to be very...logical. Your example doesn't fit with the examples we were talking about, which was the thousand generations of Deuteronomy 7:9 and the thousand years of Revelation 20. I don't see anything in Deuteronomy 7:9 which plainly tells us that the word...

    Why I'm Premil

What was Peter's point to say that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night if the fiery destruction he described won't occur until 1000+ years after Christ returns? Why did Peter warn his readers about the coming day of the Lord if it isn't something that can possibly affect...

    Why I'm Premil

But, He did come for Daniel's people and city and that's the point. Matthew 15:24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. So, I say again that only Jesus could fulfill all of the things listed in Daniel 9:24. If the Israelite people themselves...

22 major reasons to abandon the Premil doctrine

It was completely unnecessary. The subject being discussed was the future return of Christ. But, I'm not going to waste any more time trying to explain this to you. Just read the discussion again and you'll see there was no basis for him to bring up preterism there. And there's no basis for you...

22 major reasons to abandon the Premil doctrine

No, the subject was not preterism. Read the discussion again and you should see that. I don't know why he mentioned preterism there, but I do not have a preterist interpretation of Revelation 19. We were discussing the type of destruction that will occur when Christ returns in the future. He...

    Why I'm Premil

It's sad when people don't recognize that only Jesus could fulfill all of those things. And He did. He is the Most Holy who was anointed long ago. He is the One who brought in everlasting righteousness by way of His death and resurrection. He is the One who made reconciliation for iniquity by...

    Why I'm Premil

I wonder how closely you have studied 2 Peter 3? I tend to think not very. What is "His promise" that Peter said the new heavens and new earth will fulfill? Let's take a look at the text and find out. 2 Peter 3:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after...

22 major reasons to abandon the Premil doctrine

Was this really necessary for you to butt in like this and bring up a different subject? What we were talking about had nothing to do with the AOD and great tribulation. We were talking about the type of destruction that will occur when Christ returns, which will be fire. And I know you agree...

22 major reasons to abandon the Premil doctrine

In 2 Peter 3:10-12, Peter described the fire that will come upon the arrival of Christ. Does 2 Peter 3:10-12 seem like a description of regional fires to you? It absolutely does not come across that way at all. Was Peter trying to confuse people? What is it that Peter said we are looking...

22 major reasons to abandon the Premil doctrine

But, to those who aren't expecting the thief it's as if he came quickly because he is just suddenly there without them knowing he was coming. And scripture indicates that once Jesus arrives unexpectedly like a thief in the night, it will be accompanied by global destruction at that time, not...

22 major reasons to abandon the Premil doctrine

Have you actually read Psalm 2:6-9? It describes Jesus destroying His enemies, not ruling over them. Psalm 2:Ask me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession. 9 You will break them with a rod of iron; you will dash them to pieces like pottery.”

22 major reasons to abandon the Premil doctrine

You must be reading different text than I am. Let's take a look at it. Revelation 19:15 Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. 16 On his robe and...

Why did you say this? He said this: Did you somehow not know that this is what Amillennialists believe?

22 major reasons to abandon the Premil doctrine

Preterist error? I believe the return of Jesus is in the future, not 70 AD. You are confused.

Will there be or is there a need for a future Messianic age?

It's judging the dead, just like it says. What happened to your normal approach of reading the text as written in this case? How can judging the dead possibly equate to "the defeat of Antichrist"? If you look at this objectively then the judging of the dead is...the judging of the dead, which...

Will there be or is there a need for a future Messianic age?

No, you are not safe to say that at all. Many people relate soteriology as it relates to the Jews to eschatology and combine the two, so I was addressing that. I'm sure everyone else here besides you can see that is what I was doing.
