I think the NKJV was a more thoroughgoing revision than the KJ21, the publishers of which speak of an 'update' rather than a revision.

It's probably a case of both meanings and spellings; but if the basic spellings are standardized - as they were - then the meanings should probably not be too difficult - in my humble view - in what is basically a very reliable and time honored version.

Thanks. I think for both Paul in Galatians 4.19 and in John's First Epistle, the term is an affectionate one. Cf. Ephesians 5.1: "Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children".

Oh no prob. Perhaps then you knew his ears were pierced, but didn't know he would get enlargements. It seems to me that with many young men - as with young women - the acquisition of ear piercings is simply a fairly natural event that comes round at a certain age. Far from a rebellion thing...
