Say Something Good About Another Member 2

Many members appear here suddenly and crave to have their opinions trusted instantly. The member I mention next is the opposite. He is patient and displays self-control even in contentious environments. He allows his ideas to simply speak without coercion. @marks

    The Book of Remembrance

    2 Timothy 2:24-25 King James Version 24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, 25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

    The Book of Remembrance

Wrong as in doctrine or interactions? If interactions are wrong there isn't much we can do to *make* people respond rightly. We have our example, influence, prayers, and persuasion. Sometimes all four fail because we can't control the actions of others. But we can control our own actions and...

    The Book of Remembrance

What to do, though? James 1:20 King James Version 20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. We can get angry. But would that help?

    Fiery Darts from the Enemy

I'm sure God is in charge of what is happening. I think He can control what the enemy can and can't do. And I agree it might not be the enemy at all.

    The Book of Remembrance

I feel it too. I don't expect everyone to agree. I do wish we could be more patient and kind. I worry we end up "biting and devouring" one another. I would post more verses on teaching without arguing, doing everything without arguing, etc... I doubt people would read them.

    Fiery Darts from the Enemy

I believe my husband and I are under spiritual attack. We've been making good progress together in pleasing God and obeying Him from the heart. And God has blessed us. But lately we've been dealing with --- spiritual attacks on the unity of the household ---increased temptations of various...

    Home as Ministry

It can be easy to be so caught up in the practical dimension of homemaking that we miss blind spots in the spiritual dimension. The practical needs include chores, cooking, cleaning, and upkeep tasks. But the spiritual dimension involves your presence, whether you are stressed or rested...

    Healing From Brain Rot

I was raised to see hobbies and art as a waste of time unless it made you money. Now my husband encourages me to to have them because they enrich our conversations and add whimsy to our lives.

    Unfading Beauty: Wisdom from Wives

Something clicked today. My husband told me he feels somewhat like a failure when I stress about motherhood and chores. He feels successful when I go off on a tangent about some show or book and get giddy about it like a child. So I'm trying to figure it out and I hear his advice in my head...

    Home as Ministry

The nature being a homemaker is that there is always more that can be done. What energizes me is taking time to give myself credit for what did get done and not always measuring myself against what did not get done.

    What's On Your Mind?

I am grateful beyond description. All my family does is help me. When the kids got sick, my husband and each person after the next stepped up in their own way to help. I'm always getting support. It means the world to me.

If you had a chance to go anywhere in the world. Where would it be?

I meant Oxford University. I guess I thought that was in London somehow.
