Sinless Perfection. Why do so many teach against what Jesus taught?

I looked it up in Greek. τέλειον I translated it back to English. It just means perfect. I suspect some of these bible scholars just really wanted to disagree with the King James Version for reasons only they know.

Sinless Perfection. Why do so many teach against what Jesus taught?

Yeah. It's almost as if sin isn't a default state or inevitable.

Sinless Perfection. Why do so many teach against what Jesus taught?

If we're truly humble, we'll repent from sin. Not just be honest sinners. It's good to acknowledge our sins. Its not good to stay stuck in them.

Sinless Perfection. Why do so many teach against what Jesus taught?

I think its what we do and intend right now before God matters. Although if we don't believe we won't ever stop sinning in the future, we probably won't. God wants our whole heart. True worship is offering ourselves as living sacrifices. Loving God all the time, obeying Him all the time. And...

Sinless Perfection. Why do so many teach against what Jesus taught?

You may always choose to sin. But 1 Peter 4:1-2 does clearly mean that we can stop sinning while in this lifetime. That is the goal. We put on knowledge, brotherly affection, virtue and the like so we never stumble. There are so many theological traditions and sayings that can prevent us from...

Sinless Perfection. Why do so many teach against what Jesus taught?

1 Peter 4:1-2 New King James Version Christ’s Example to Be Followed 4 Therefore, since Christ suffered [a]for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, 2 that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh...

    What's On Your Mind?

I ordered pad Thai and was going to rewatch You've Got Mail. Then it gave the option to rent it again or buy and I spent a lot of time thinking about it. I couldn't decide so I didn't watch it. The seafood pad Thai was good though.

    Unfading Beauty: Wisdom from Wives

My husband is very strong. He's like the basketball player storming the court for a layup. I'm more like the assist that gives a tap to make it in the basket. No matter what I do to give to him, it never outdoes what he does for me. But even he should not have to do everything alone. Like Eve...

    Happy Holy Mama

As a little girl, I often played "house", "teacher", and "hospital". My little girl self would be so excited to see me nursing my sick toddlers. I have had very little sleep, wiped up vomit, cheauffered to doctors appointments, and picked up medicine on dr. Pepper and chicken nuggets. I don't...

    Who are the Saved?

Have sinned. Past tense. I agree. Do we have to keep sinning forever and ever? No. I believe righteousness is about what we do now. Thanks for the like, brother :)

    Who are the Saved?

Sorry, I still don't agree with this. I don't agree that only Jesus is ever without sin. We ought to walk as He walked. I think not sinning is kind of the beginning. People in the Bible were able to be blameless even before Christ and the Holy Spirit. Noah was one of them. Also Zaccheus and...

    Who are the Saved?

I don't agree. Christ suffered and He never sinned. We can stop sinning. John 8:34-36 King James Version 34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. 35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever...

    Biblical Support For Soliciting Prostitutes

I don't believe @Wrangler is trying to be a bad person. I think it's more of an intellectual challenge that he's after.
