    Scriptures that Refute Calvinism

You have got a strange idea of what I and other Calvinists believe. The point is, they/we do indeed believe in the need to spread the gospel. I mentioned William Carey. He was Calvinistic in his beliefs, yet he obeyed the command of Christ to preach the gospel. He went to India, even though...

    Rightly Dividing Calvinism

I was not influenced by the teachings of Calvin, or by a fake pastor or fake bible teacher As I said, I hadn't even heard of him when I came to believe what I do, and I found those doctrines in the bible.

    Rightly Dividing Calvinism

Can you give any examples of people who hold Calvinistic beliefs saying that sinners have to become Calvinists to be saved? I was referring to every aspect of salvation. Ephesians tells us that in our natural state we are "dead in trespasses and sins." Thus by nature we are not in a position...

    Rightly Dividing Calvinism

I have said before that I believed the doctrines of grace because I found them in the bible, long before I had ever heard of a man called John Calvin. So I certainly don't " interpret scripture thru the spirit of John Calvin rather than the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ."

    Scriptures that Refute Calvinism

Calvinists certainly do not claim that God makes people sin. As for suggesting that Calvinists will rob your house and the claim it was God's will for them to do so, that's just nonsense.

    Scriptures that Refute Calvinism

Not so. Calvinists know that sinners must believe on the Lord Jesus Christ to be saved. Hence, Calvinists have been, and still are, at the forefront of missionary endeavour. For example, William Carey, sometimes called "the father of modern missions) was a Calvinist Calvinists don't believe...

    Rightly Dividing Calvinism

No that just is not so. Calvinism does not teach that you have to be a Calvinist to be saved. It says that when any sinner is saved, it is the work of Jesus Christ which accomplishes that salvation. I don't understand what " kick Jesus to the curb" means - probably some term from an...

    Scriptures that Refute Calvinism

That is a gross distortion of the Doctrines of Grace, sometimes known as Calvinism. Those doctrines certainly do not teach that God turns all humans into robots programmed to worship him and do good and evil for his entertainment.

    Mega-Church Vs Small-Church

But the 5000 and 4000 were not a church, were they?

Was judas Iscariot used by Satan ??

I agree, but I was answering a post where the poster had written: "Were it not for Satan would Judas have turned Jesus in? It appears not else Satan wouldn't have entered." I wasn't saying, "What if....?" I agree. I didn't think I had mentioned, "predetermined plan." I have not seen...

Judas Went to His Own Place – A Biblical Verdict of Eternal Judgment

I am sorry, but I don't agree that we must use additions to the bible, whether by Maria Valtorta or anybody else.

Judas Went to His Own Place – A Biblical Verdict of Eternal Judgment

Scriptural basis for that? No, I was using your argument concerning Mary's conception, to say that if He could keep her from inheriting sinfulness at conception, what is the problem with Him keeping Jesus from inheriting it, without the need for an immaculately-conceived mother? I certainly...

Judas Went to His Own Place – A Biblical Verdict of Eternal Judgment

As far as I am aware, Scripture doesn't even tell us who Mary's parents were, let alone whether they were just or not. Exactly, and if God could have done that, He could (and did) do the same with His Son when He took on human flesh. She recognised that she needed a Saviour. "My spirit has...

Is it possible to lose salvation?

Sorry, I must have been unclear. I fully agree that merely knowing about Jesus and the cross does not save anybody. There certainly was a Holy Spirit. Are you saying that nobody was saved before Calvary? What about aged Simeon, who held the Infant Jesus in his arms and said to God: “"Lord...

Is it possible to lose salvation?

Well, I have just had another look at Acts 15. Certainly we read of Paul describing the conversion of Gentiles, but there is nothing as I see it saying that Paul taught the other apostles church doctrine.

Is it possible to lose salvation?

Jesus knew that He was going to be put to death. The knowledge was available to Him. He did tell His disciples about His death and resurrection before they happened. Yet even His disciples did not understand until after the resurrection, so I imagine that is the reason Jesus didn't mention...

Is it possible to lose salvation?

Yes, I agree - the "other sheep" are Gentiles. All the apostles were teachers of New Testament doctrine. Peter also preached to Gentiles, although the main focus of his ministry was to Jews.

Is it possible to lose salvation?

But in my post I quoted 8 verses where Paul talks of the gospel of Christ. As for baptism, we read in Acts 16 of Paul baptizing Lydia and her believing household, and later in the chapter, the Philippian jailer and his believing household. Besides, baptism was not an essential part of the...

Is it possible to lose salvation?

True, His main earthly ministry was to the Jews. Yet He did say: “"And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd.” (Joh 10:16 NKJV)

Is it possible to lose salvation?

Jesus certainly did deal with gentiles. The Roman centurion who had a servant who was ill, the Canaanite woman with a demon-possessed daughter, the Samaritans He had dealings with, who at most were "half-Jews."
