Did God approve or disapprove of the Jewish temple?

Sorry for not being clear. You had written: "I think the word 'inerrant' is over rated. It is a word men have superimposed on the scriptures." You then said that Jesus said, "You have heard it said.....", and you went on to say that they had heard it from the Scriptures, and that seemed to be...

Was judas Iscariot used by Satan ??

Sorry but I still say the same thing, that I have never come across a Christian who believes that there is an actual lion, with mane and claws, and sharp teeth going around devouring people. I know I don't believe that. However, I do believe that Peter teaches, that in the same way as a lion...

Was judas Iscariot used by Satan ??

No they don't think there is a lion going around devouring people. They believe what Peter wrote, that the devil goes about like a roaring lion.

Did God approve or disapprove of the Jewish temple?

But when Jesus said, "You have heard it said," He wasn't referring to the written word of God. For example: “"You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’” (Mt 5:43 NKJV) Certainly loving your neighbour is in the Old Testament, but we look in vain for...

    An Ecumenical False Teacher

No, as I stated, he's talking of those who genuinely believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour, calling them "brothers in Christ." There are differences in the practice and belief of those brothers in Christ, but if they know the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour, they are not heretics.

    Scriptures that Refute Calvinism

They certainly do not. The believe that He is God's Son, of Whom we are told in Colossians: “For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily;” (Col 2:9 NKJV) Yes, and Calvinists believe that, too. Calvinists have been, and are, at the forefront of missionary outreach. They...

    Scriptures that Refute Calvinism

I have often seen non-Calvinists state that Calvinists believe that God only saves Calvinists and that there are only a few who are saved. That just is not true. (OF course, I don't know every Calvinist who has ever lived, so there may be a Calvinist somewhere who does believe such things, but...

When Did Jesus Go to Egypt?

But they did live in Nazareth before the census: “And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. This census first took place while Quirinius was governing Syria. So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city...

    An Ecumenical False Teacher

But as Spurgeon indicates in the words you quote, he is talking about genuine Christians, those who are "in Christ": " Is it not remarkable how very much alike all God's people are upon their knees? Some time ago at a prayer-meeting I called upon two brothers in Christ to pray one after...

When Did Jesus Go to Egypt?

Judging by what we read in Matthew about Herod killing all the young boys 2 years old and under in Bethlehem and its districts, I suggest that Jesus would have been nearly 2 by the time they went to Egypt. Definitely Bethlehem. We are not told. Possibly travelling the 70 miles with a new-born...

When Did Jesus Go to Egypt?

Sorry, what don't i understand? I said that Matthew says that the star led them from Jerusalem to Bethlehem, not all the way from their home in the East. Isn't that what you are saying?

When Did Jesus Go to Egypt?

I agree with most of your post, but not with the star leading them to Jerusalem. Matthew says that after seeing Herod, the star which they had seen in the East (not which they had followed from the East) went before them.

The one who is still to come

Sorry, entirely my fault for being repetitive.

The one who is still to come

But (and I know I have said this before) those who believe in the Trinity believe in one God. They are not tritheists, or whatever the word would be for a believer in three Gods.

When Did Jesus Go to Egypt?

The wise men being there at the same time as the shepherds is just not biblical. Nor is the notion of 3 wise men. Yes, they brought three gifts, but two, six, twenty or a hundred wise men could bring three gifts. There are many "traditions" about Christ's nativity which are just not in the...

When Did Jesus Go to Egypt?

No contradiction at all. Luke is talking about Jesus at the age of 8 days. In the Matthew passage concerning the wise men's visit, Jesus was anything up to 2 years old. That's why Herod commanded all the boys 2 years old and under in Bethlehem and the surrounding district to be killed.

Infant Baptism is not given in scripture.

What else can the word mean? I looked it up in two concordances. Strong's has: "907. βαπτίζω baptizo [bap-tid’-zo]; from a derivative of 911; to immerse, submerge; to make overwhelmed (i.e. fully wet); used only (in the N.T.) of ceremonial ablution, especially (technically) of the ordinance...

Was judas Iscariot used by Satan ??

I am sorry but I don't understand what you mean by inferring my being on the text where there was none. Certainly I am not being dishonest. I think we have spent rather too long debating back and forth with each other. I must say I find your beliefs very unusual, particularly your beliefs...

    Rightly Dividing Calvinism

Paul wrote to the Ephesian Christians and told them that they had been saved by God's grace when they were "dead in trespasses and sins": “And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the...

Was judas Iscariot used by Satan ??

I assure you I am not being evasive. I don't claim to be the world's best debater, so any weaknesses are in the way I express my beliefs, rather than in the beliefs themselves. But I didn't misquote James 4. I quoted a verse from James 4 verbatim. Why not? I know that we cannot always say...
