    Bible "study" Rules!

Well, let’s take a look at a verse such as Matthew 24:33, So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. If these “things” are physical events that are to be physically seen then compared to scripture, then we aren’t comparing scripture with...

    Bible "study" Rules!

I saw you linked this post on the eschatology forum and would like to get your opinion. I agree with your assessment of Bible study rules but I don’t see anything on how to determine if something is fulfilled or not, which is often debated when discussing eschatology. One reference that shows...

Who goes back with Jesus in the pre-tribulation rapture?

Well sure, I’m not arguing for that position and I see the points you’re making. I had an Amill friend give me that view but I don’t think there are very many others that hold that view. Here’s the thing though, if someone does have a view that can show some kind of symmetry that holds true...

Who goes back with Jesus in the pre-tribulation rapture?

I probably should’ve been a little clearer on my post. If old heaven and old earth is synonymous with the old covenant and new heaven new earth with the new covenant then based on Hebrews 8:13 the old covenant didn’t vanish at the cross. So we would have a period of time when both old heaven old...

Who goes back with Jesus in the pre-tribulation rapture?

Yes, I agree. I think we have access to new Jerusalem which is in new heaven new earth right now. Do you see new heaven new earth existing at the same time as old heaven old earth? (I think old heaven old earth represents old covenant). Some people argue that old heaven old earth must be gone...

Who goes back with Jesus in the pre-tribulation rapture?

I absolutely agree, that’s the only way the tares could’ve gotten in.

Who goes back with Jesus in the pre-tribulation rapture?

In John:3:5 Jesus says Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. In Matthew 13:41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; Matthew 13:41 is talking...

    Parable of the minas

I’m not arguing against Hebrews 2:8, I’m arguing that He received the kingdom and returned prior to His ascension in Acts 1:9. The parable of the minas doesn’t require Hebrews 2:8 to be fulfilled first with all things put under Him.

    Parable of the minas

Well, how about this… In Daniel 7:13-14 the Son of man is given dominion, glory, and a kingdom. In Ephesians 1:20-21 when Christ was raised from the dead, He was set above all principalities, power, might, and dominion. It seems pretty straightforward that Christ was given the kingdom just...

    Parable of the minas

Look, what you’re proposing is no different than saying it’s the Lord’s business whether free will exists or not. I don’t know where you stand on that topic but would you accept someone telling you it’s the Lord’s businesses and you’re wasting time trying to have a discussion on it? This is the...

    Parable of the minas

Well, I do care. If someone were to claim Jesus is not the Son of God and that’s the Lord’s business and I should just let Him handle it, I wouldn’t trust that person. We need to trust the Bible and if you can’t explain something like who is in the cities in the mina parable, then I simply...

    Parable of the minas

I’m not arguing that the servants won’t be able to handle the responsibilities. I’m asking where all the non-servants come from in the cities that they have authority over. Do you have an answer for who the people in the cities are?
  13. G

    Parable of the minas

Well, most Premils have no one or very few people going into the millennium that would be considered a non-servant person. If we just say the Premill position is correct regardless of it making sense with other scriptures then an Amill can say the same along with a full Preterist. Any and all...

    Parable of the minas

I’m not worried about it, I think if the beginning of a Premill millennium doesn’t have a large number of non-servants then there has to be another explanation of the parable of the minas that makes sense.
  15. G

    Parable of the minas

Ok, I see your Premill. I’m guessing that you have the servants receiving authority over the cities taking place just prior to or at the beginning of the millennium. There are at least 2.3 cities per servant. The average size city in USA is somewhere between 10,000 and 50,000 people. Let’s be...

    Parable of the minas

Maybe the parable was ment for those who didn’t recognize the kingdom was present, and they thought it would physically appear. Do you think there are servants that have authority over cities at this present time? Or will that happen in the future? Or perhaps it has already taken place. What do...

    Parable of the minas

In Luke 19:11-27 we have the parable of the minas, this parable is told because they thought the kingdom of God should immediately appear. In the parable there are ten servants, we know the fate of three of them which takes place after He receives the kingdom and returns. One gets ten cities...

Only one rapture of all the saints, and only one second coming of Christ

Ok, chronologically you have the dead in Christ rising first and then the tares are gathered first for the GWT. Is that correct? The tares and wheat grow together and in the harvest the tares are gathered first and bound in bundles according to Matthew 13:30. After the dead in Christ and those...

Only one rapture of all the saints, and only one second coming of Christ

The parable of the dragnet indicates that at the end of the age the angels separate the wicked from the just. That agrees with the angels gathering the tares first. The gathering of the tares separates them from the just.

Only one rapture of all the saints, and only one second coming of Christ

I’m not hung up on it, I think it points to two separate harvests. Chronologically, which comes first the dead in Christ rising or the tares being gathered? Only one can come first if you have only one harvest.
