    Can a tare become saved?

Interesting idea, another thing might be to consider where the tare seeds come from in the first place. Does Satan have his own field where he grows tares to harvest the seeds and then plant those seeds in His (Jesus’) field?

    Can a tare become saved?

Well tares aren’t saved, right? They are thrown into the fire. I agree that from our perspective we don’t know who will or won’t be saved. I was lost and then became saved, but I don’t consider myself as a tare prior to becoming saved. I was a lost sheep but I wasn’t a goat.

    Can a tare become saved?

Yes, I agree. There seems to be quite a few people that simply want to say a tare can become wheat, because a tare represents all the lost, even though that contradicts the reality that a tare plant can’t become a wheat plant and this parable would then be the only parable based on an untrue...

    Can a tare become saved?

Or we could say people were entering the kingdom by way of the old covenant prior to the cross then after the cross only those born of water and Spirit could enter the kingdom. The kingdom was then purged of those tares who tried to remain under the old covenant, that removal happened some time...

    Can a tare become saved?

Ok, that’s reasonable but then in Matthew 21:43 it says Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. The chief priest and Pharisees knew this was referring to them, the same people that are told they are of their...

The Jerusalem which is above is the heavenly city of promise which God has prepared for His saints

1 John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. It’s very difficult to know what exactly it’s going to be like and we can speculate but we do know heaven and...

    Can a tare become saved?

I’m not so sure I would agree with that. A believer is in the world physically but not of it spiritually. A tare can’t really be in the kingdom spiritually but not of it. Do you have any verses that might help explain how a tare can be in the kingdom of God?

The Jerusalem which is above is the heavenly city of promise which God has prepared for His saints

I have no issues with what you’re saying except the phrase “This current earth will be regenerated when He comes”. If the elements (hydrogen, oxygen, …) melt then there is nothing physically left of this earth. It’s possible that Jesus created an entirely new universe, outside of our current...

The Jerusalem which is above is the heavenly city of promise which God has prepared for His saints

Well, Jesus said I go to prepared a place for you. Is there any reason to think He hasn’t prepared that place yet?

The Jerusalem which is above is the heavenly city of promise which God has prepared for His saints

Isaiah 62:4(NIV) No longer will they call you Deserted, or name your land Desolate. But you will be called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah; for the LORD will take delight in you, and your land will be married. No different than land being married.

The Jerusalem which is above is the heavenly city of promise which God has prepared for His saints

No, I’m saying basing your interpretation of Jerusalem coming down from heaven on symbolism is no more convincing than a full preterist doing the same thing.

The Jerusalem which is above is the heavenly city of promise which God has prepared for His saints

Right, that’s why a symbolic interpretation is questionable unless there are multiple examples. A lamb being symbolic of Jesus works because of all the examples in the Bible but saying New Jerusalem coming down from heaven is symbolic of something is questionable.

The Jerusalem which is above is the heavenly city of promise which God has prepared for His saints

But that’s how symbolism works. You’re using symbolism to put it in the future and preterist use symbolism to put it in the past. I can also use symbolism to make it happen everyday, every time a person gets saved.

    Can a tare become saved?

Ok, then it must be wheat that the angels weed out of the kingdom. Is that your interpretation?

The Jerusalem which is above is the heavenly city of promise which God has prepared for His saints

I’m not calling you a full preterist. I know you are Amil but you are arguing for an interpretation that I have only heard a full preterist argue for. I honestly don’t know exactly what any other full preterist would say but the one person I had a conversation with would’ve agreed with the...

    Can a tare become saved?

Matthew 13:41(NIV) The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. What are the angels weeding out of His kingdom? We’re not talking about the world but out of His kingdom. Is it wheat or tares that have to be weeded out?

The Jerusalem which is above is the heavenly city of promise which God has prepared for His saints

Ok, some time ago someone told me that New Jerusalem was symbolic and it descended just after 70AD for the Jews who just had their old covenant vanish. Are you sure you want to go with a symbolic interpretation? You’d be in agreement with some full preterist on that.

    Can a tare become saved?

I agree with you, nice post. I’m not personally a Premil but since a tare never becomes wheat in reality, if I were to argue the Premil position I would say the parable of the weeds is written from God’s perspective, not man’s perspective which is why the tares are not saved and Satan is not...

    Can a tare become saved?

Matthew 13:38(NIV) The field is the world, and the good seed stands for the people of the kingdom. The weeds are the people of the evil one, Matthew 13:41(NIV) The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. Matthew...

    Can a tare become saved?

Have the kingdoms of this world already become the kingdoms of our Lord then?
