There is no spiritual gift called "the gift of tongues".

I don't deny it at all, in fact I embrace it 100% and quote it according. Here it is. 1 Cor 13:8 8Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

There is no spiritual gift called "the gift of tongues".

Yes. Chapter 13 is about love (charity per kjv), granted, I'd that's what you're insinuating; but that's not the bottom line to the issue of "gifts" or manifestations of the Spirit being applicable today. The bottom line is, they're no longer needed, but more importantly, the gifts could no...

There is no spiritual gift called "the gift of tongues".

Yes. All the miraculous manifestations of the Spirit have ceased, i.e.; prophesy, tongues, etc. All those things (gifts) listed in 1Cor 12:8-10

There is no spiritual gift called "the gift of tongues".

Yes we can.1 cor 13:8. Also, the manifestation of the Spirit resulted by the laying on of the apostle's hands. They're gone too.

There is no spiritual gift called "the gift of tongues".

Once again you show your lack of scriptural understanding and woukd rather hold fast to and double down on it and error thats inherent in it. The gift IS the Spirit itself, not a manifestation of it (one of its gifts), and you receive the actual Spirit upon being baptized into Christ. Notice...

    What is speaking in tongues?

Where do you find scriptural evidence and confirmation of your statement?? And to whom do you share this with? Do you typically have foreign visitors at your "church" that don't understand English, and someone then speaks to them in a tongue known to them so they can understand the "good news "?

There is no spiritual gift called "the gift of tongues".

It's a true statement not against God but only against those that believe otherwise who's false beliefs are not supported by scripture nor does your reference to Malachi have any relevance.

There is no spiritual gift called "the gift of tongues".

That is a cute answer for something believed that isn't supported by scripture. The FACT is, all the spiritual gifts have ceased according to scripture and cute answers won't validate that which is wrong. 1 Cor 13:8 8Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail...

There is no spiritual gift called "the gift of tongues".

Nope, nor will anyone else because they no longer exist

There is no spiritual gift called "the gift of tongues".

The fact of the matter is the manifestations of the Spirit (gifts) have long since passed. Anyone claiming otherwise is plain old malarkey

Yep, you fight malarkey with malarkey

    What is speaking in tongues?

Is this what Paul did and preached on his missionary journeys? Speaking in tongues is NOT the gospel, the "Good News of the Kingdom of God"

    What is speaking in tongues?

Believe whatever garbage you like. Goodbye

There is no spiritual gift called "the gift of tongues".

If a so-called "pastor", which is an elder according to scripture, not a minister or preacher, went to Nepal to teach about the spiritual gifts rather than saving souls, it simply confirms the fact that this modern-day tongue speaking movement is NOT of God. And I would bet that this so-called...

There is no spiritual gift called "the gift of tongues".

Never have been on such a bus nor are aware of such events you cited. And how exactly are these people being saved? What exactly did tjus non Christian Nepali man say to the English pastor via the Spirit of God that he somehow miraculously obtained? That seems a bit unusual, that a non Christian...

    What is speaking in tongues?

You're dreaming, conflicting scripture, and the scriptures don't support YOUR words as well as you lack scriptural understanding. It's the view of the bible; forget your label 'cessationist'. The church is worldwide today, not just the few scattered congregations throughout Asia as the...

    What is speaking in tongues?

The purpose is clear by the scriptures. Tongues served a purpose in the early, fledgling church as did the other manifestations of the Spirit, to grow it and edify it which are no longer necessary. There was no written word of God as we have today to guide us in all things. Tongues were a sign...

There is no spiritual gift called "the gift of tongues".

Agreed. They weren't the babbling, gibberish, nonsense you hear today, they were tongues of other earthly languages that no longer are being manifested today by the Spirit nor are necessary as they were back then.
