    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

No I wouldn't like to. I posted a piece I had written on Phil. 3 but you made no comment. You keep posting texts on gradual sanctification when I have said I believe there is a process. It seems to me that nothing useful can be gained by a joint discussion with you. As others are having problems...

11 But when Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face, because he stood condemned. Gal 2:11

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

@GodsGrace "In the second paragraph you state that we never reach a state when we cannot sin if we wish." Meaning, we will always be able to sin if we so wish. Some say we cannot sin again if we are sinless. We can but will not remain in that state and need restoring.

Only in the Latin West. The eastern side ignored him or thought him a heretic.

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

The problem is that after water baptism, the priest would lay hands on the person and pray for the Holy Spirit to fall on them that is to say, the baptism of the Holy Spirit and freedom from sin. So really it was both together and we know that water does not save, thanks to Peter. I believe...

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

By the way, there has been an upsurge of interest in scholars over the doctrine and many writings by them can be found online.

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

These three objections and others have been amply dealt with throughout church history as taken out of context. I have posted on them on this forum and they can be found, the latest on this thread on the Phillipian 3 one. They are easily explained. John Wesley cannot be used as he was not...

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

Johann makes it sound as though only a fringe believed in entire sanctification in this life which is not true. Apart from it being the main doctrine of the early years that is the first few hundred years before Augustine came along and led the west into many errors, it has continued and been...

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

1Thess 1:4 says: For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication. It is God's will. Cirumstances do not count because it is through His power alone. All we need is to be willing. If you are felling a bit disturbed sister rejoice because this is...

I am a cessationist too sister. I did not mean that he was unsaved, just pointing out that many Bible scholars are unsaved. Knowing the Bible back to front is not evidence of being led by the Spirit. Agreed that the starting point is not unbelieving Jews but people who have answered the call...

It depends on what you mean by sinless perfection.

Tobacco has a lot of negatives as reported by the prohibitionist, it is highly addictive also, what are the positives to use?

Try the patches or gum. Cigarettes are addictive because of the additives. Do your own research.

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

Paul is talking about judging sin. He says that God judges sin through our consciences and is his judge. This has nothing to do with knowing if we are without sin. If our conscience is clear we have either seared it or we are blameless. We know by the intimacy we have with Christ.

Be ye mature as your heavenly Father is mature?

I think that he means alive in the Spirit - Spirit baptized and in Theosis. If indeed they have the Spirit within, then they should be showing the fruit. If the fruit is not there then they have not been baptized. It is a test for them.

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

Agreed. It was so for me. I believe that He gives a taste of what we can be like when His power is there fully. I think that many think that they are *there*, they have reached the point of salvation that they read about and are taught mistakenly. When the 'pricks' of the Spirit come, they...

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

A spiritual change yes. An awakening to the truth of the gospel. We are now spiritual receptive to God. It caused a huge change for me after seeking. No we learn but we cannot do it. It is because we are trying to do it in the flesh. For the cPTSD'ed it is especially hard. Agreed. If we...

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

At last I can get back to this one. Sorry it took so long but it stayed with me. What you are describing, is neurological damage, but according to all of the studying I have done since Christmas with my brothers family and there abusive behaviour towards me shocked me into the reality that I...

    A Question For Christian Men

That was a bit judgmental of her.
