    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

No I do not think Paul was 'born again' at the point you said. In Romans 6 he is talking about what one should be, that sin should be dead but in Romans 7 he finds that he can no longer continue unless his walk matches his talk and he is entirely sanctified then, well when he praises God..

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

I think that what changed was the conviction of the Holy spirit whereas before this, he considered it normal as it were, for him to slip up and sin, but now, under conviction, he could no longer tolerate sinning.

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

It is when he tried to obey that he found something in him that did not want to obey. I think it was when he was under the conviction of the Holy Spirit.

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

I believe his words were the words of a man out of control.

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

I am taking his words as personal experience for me.

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

That it was not his will but something he had no control over.

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

I say he was talking about unintentional sin.

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

Yes I think it has a lot to do with it and my upbringing was in a rather godless place amongst heavy industry workers from Ireland where being religious was a bad thing. Only the middle class went to church.

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

@marks I have spent huge amounts of my time on Romans 6 7 & 8 and written about them. My old Bible is full of underlines and notes on those chapters! It is my favourite part of the Bible and sorely misunderstood by those who think Paul is described in chapter 7 as a Pharisee, or for Calvinists...

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

I know that you do not identify as a Calvinist @marks, but you are holding to one of their dogmas OSAS. Yeah, me too. I am still working though some things. Born again yes but again, changed position from the usual one, that coming to Christ means we are born again. I dispute it because we...

Not getting into original sin atm.

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

I see some of the problem here, is that one side think that Arminian theology, says that all who are NOSAS think they could come at any time they like and turn to Christ and so believe in works salvation. But I do not believe in this idea, I think that God has an appointed time for each man who...

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

Yes there are verses to back up each side and it is not as clear cut as we would like. There is the keeping us, preserving us, in that state of having the inheritance, that is possible without us losing our free will to leave, in the way that scripture warns repeatedly about. There is a balance...

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

The inheritance of purity is for this life. Scripture says on many occasions that we are given a pure heart - in this life, and many prayers in the OT are exactly for that. You are making the mistake of thinking that just because it is reserved in heaven (heavenly places) that cancel out all of...

Please stop messing my thread up . Back to you in the morning (UK time) @marks.

    The Way/Theosis/entire sanctification.

To remain saved, what is required is to submit to Christ living His life through us. This will produce the fruit of the Spirit and absolute obedience. The soul that sinneth, it shall die, has always been the spiritual law. Anything that is works of the flesh cannot abide in this realm...

Okay @marks I will get back on that portion of scripture but not today (no tired smilies!)
