    That's nonsense. You completely miss the point. Which is thus: why would Paul give thanks that he has baptized only two people if baptism was what saved a person? That would be like Paul giving thanks for not saving anyone through faith.

    If water baptism was essential for salvation, why would Paul write in 1 Corinthians 1:14 "I thank God that I baptized none of you"? That would mean that he's thanking God for not bringing converts all the way to Christ.

    But, I still believe in apostasy. I believe the Lord will keep each of His redeemed by His power. But if someone willingly turns away from Jesus they can be lost.
