    Let's discuss commentaries.

I have it. Also Matthew Henry, and scores of others. I've been collecting them for decades. I found them ridiculous most of the time. The only one I found to be accurate to what a verse actually means is The Abingdon Bible Commentary. All the othera agreed with each other, whereas the Abingdon...

    Let's discuss commentaries.

I asked what your theology is. I told you I'm neither Calvinist nor Arminian. So what are you. Be honest.

Aren't Jamieson, Fausset and brown also Reformed?

I'm neither, so what are you? Be honest.

    Let's discuss commentaries.

Just the opposite. Doctrines of demons are LIBERAL. This one is Weslyn and is the basis for HOLINESS, the opposite of LIBERAL. What theology do you think is not liberal? What do you like? Reformed?

    Let's discuss commentaries.

There is only one I have found that doesn't agree with all the doctrines of demons, but only what the Bible actually means, and that is The Abingdon Bible Commentary. c. 1929

The Godly Heresy of Sinless Perfectionism

Right it doesn't, but it is only one of many combined to confirm Jesus wanting us to be perfect.

The Godly Heresy of Sinless Perfectionism

Yes, It is a process. There are levels of obedience that we are accountable for to God. Those who are truly His live up to the level they are at. Philippians 3:16. But we strive to keep growing, never settling on less that perfect as we continuously walk in the Spirit. And as 1 John 1:7 says...

    Help with John 1:12-13

You are reading a weird translation. No wonder you are confused! "Husband" just means natural birth from a man's sperm. Not born of the Spirit with the seed of the Father. Here is the New King James Version 10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know...

The Godly Heresy of Sinless Perfectionism

Well, we must all work out our own salvation with fear and trembling. The theory that "sin is an illusion" sounds like a variation on the Gnostic teaching that sins of the flesh are not sins; the only sins are of the spirit. That will cause a Gnostic to say they have no sin, and won't discern...

The Godly Heresy of Sinless Perfectionism

You must be following some guru or something. It certainly isn't Christ. Matthew 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. 1 Peter 1:16 16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. 2 Peter 1:10-11 10 Wherefore, brethren, labour the more, that by...

The Godly Heresy of Sinless Perfectionism

Hi Bible Highlighter, John is clear that what he is meaning is there is a difference between talking the talk, and walking the walk. He is not leaving it up to any misinterpretation. It is easier if you read 1 John 2 first to be able to clearly see the true meaning of the first chapter where...

The Godly Heresy of Sinless Perfectionism

Paul was still on a level, but his last letter showed he had reached it. 2 Timothy 4:6-8 6 For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Finally, there is laid...

The Godly Heresy of Sinless Perfectionism

1 John 1:8 is about those who don't think they sin so never seek Jesus nor confess their sin to BECOME a Spirit-filled Christian. There is a big difference between those who SAY they don't sin, and those who WALK in the Spirit. You think you have to fight. I don't. 1 John 3:8 8 He who sins is...

1 John 3:9 - Is it cannot "practice" sin, or cannot "commit" sin?

Here is the literal interpretation: Young's Literal Translation 9 every one who hath been begotten of God, sin he doth not, because his seed in him doth remain, and he is not able to sin, because of God he hath been begotten.

what happens when holy spirit comes upon you ?

What happens when Jesus gives you His Spirit is He takes away your sin 1 John 3:5, "And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin." What that does is cleanses your human nature from being a sin nature that all inherited after Adam sinned which corrupted...

1 John 3:9 - Is it cannot "practice" sin, or cannot "commit" sin?

1 John 3:9 New American Standard Bible 9 No one who has been born of God practices sin, because His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin continually, because he has been born of God.

    Seeing into the Spirit realm.

    Seeing into the Spirit realm.

On Sunday in Sunday School before church started, I heard that some (three people) could see a glow around the pastor as he was preaching. I asked God to give me that ability, and sure enough after the announcements and into his preaching, I saw it and it continued until he was done preaching...

    A polite question for pretribbers

Yes, but add the "time, times and half a time" (3.5 years). Time is one year, times is two years, and half a time is half a year totaling 3.5 years. Except the 42 months of Rev. 13 is the second 3.5 years totally 7 years. There is a paradigm in Daniel 9 which calls the last 7 years, a week...
