Can One Be Christian and Not Believe In The Trinity?

No Lambano. Doctrine does not save us...but it does identify us to a belief system. This thread is not about soteriology,,, but about the definition of the word Christian. When a person tells someone that they're Christian... what exactly does that mean? It means nothing these days... we'd...

Can One Be Christian and Not Believe In The Trinity?

We very conveniently choose the verses that we like and ignore the rest. This is done for every single Christian doctrine. I don't really care to discuss the Divinity of Jesus since there is nothing to discuss... but I'll reply to your verses. Matthew 1:20-21 I like to post context, so it'll...

How did the Trinity doctrine develop in the early church?

Actually, this is why I go to the ECFs many times. They were taught by the Apostles...the next generation. If we can trust the Apostles to know that Jesus was resurrected,,, we can certainly trust them to know what Jesus taught and that they CORRECTLY passed this information on to the next...

Can One Be Christian and Not Believe In The Trinity?

Right. But God number 2. There is only 1 God. The question here is this: Are there already established rules for being known as Christian? Can a person make up their own meaning for Christianity or is it already established? How will the Christian religion end up if we keep adding to it or...

How did the Trinity doctrine develop in the early church?

Jesus remained silent because Pilot was staring Him in the face... TRUTH INCARNATE.... So how do I perceive the truth? You keep stating what I believe... how about stating the belief?

How did the Trinity doctrine develop in the early church?

Could you please state the gospel as taught by the Apostles.... Which part of this is missing from today's Christendom? Seems like you also are worried about the direction of Christendom... which is the subject of the other thread.

How did the Trinity doctrine develop in the early church?

Which doctrinal errors do I hold? (that are the same as the prosperity gospel).

How did the Trinity doctrine develop in the early church?

I read it carefully. I am speaking EXACTLY about the teachers of today. So do you agree with me that the early theologians are the ones teaching correct Christianity? Couldn't agree more. But there are other heresies too. What do I require teaching about? And could you reply to my questions...

Can One Be Christian and Not Believe In The Trinity?

Sorry Trevor... I meant as being God even in the OT. I really don't want to turn this into another thread on Jesus being God... although I fear it will end up as such. BUT I suppose you would say that Jesus was in the OT, but He was still created at some point? Just to clarify.

How did the Trinity doctrine develop in the early church?

Hey! I didn't mean you!! But you are a very smart and intelligent guy. WHAT IS THE TRUTH?? Yes. Frank Turek, Wes Huff, John Lennox and Bill Craig use that term all the time!! LOL

How did the Trinity doctrine develop in the early church?

When is the last hour? When John wrote that....it was believed to be the "last hour" and yet we're still here. Yes sir. This is why the early church fought so hard to keep heresy out of the church. THEY LEFT US BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT OF US... 1 John 2:19 You might know that the above is...

Can One Be Christian and Not Believe In The Trinity?

PARADOX: a seemingly absurd or contradictory statement or proposition which when investigated may prove to be well founded or true. "the uncertainty principle leads to all sorts of paradoxes, like the particles being in two places at once"

Can One Be Christian and Not Believe In The Trinity?

Seems we don't agree on the teachings of the Apostles. Not all here agree with you. Why do you think YOU are correct and the others you're speaking to are wrong?? I've already stated that it is not YOU who gets to determine what a Christian is in terms of definition.... (this is not to state...

How did the Trinity doctrine develop in the early church?

@Lambano Looking for my post is taking too long. Here is the source -which is better anyway since I didn't post all of it. https://www.str.org/w/nine-early-church-fathers-who-taught-jesus-is-god

How did the Trinity doctrine develop in the early church?

As far as I can determine,,,it has been co-equal with the Father. How could it be more co-equal than stating that Jesus is God? I found a lot on the ECFs and posted yesterday. Will see if I could find my post or the source. There are early documents that we know about ONLY by the writings of...

Can One Be Christian and Not Believe In The Trinity?

Yes sir. You're right. Never use the word "all" (other religions). Not only that, but adultery is commonplace too. Allah told Muhammad that he could even have MORE than 3 or 4 wives,,, (the limit for others not so lucky) and what he could hold under his arm (his slave girls or any other that...

Can One Be Christian and Not Believe In The Trinity?

I think you know by now BB,,,that I don't judge souls. Only God can do that. In no way am I saying that if a person does not believe in the Trinity they are headed for the other place. I just don't think they should define themselves as Christian. Great verses for the other members !
