How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

Twelve tribes of the Israel of God, the city that is above.......which includes Gentiles.

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

Amen, and being restored to relationship with God means we have been reconciled to Him, no longer separated from Him due to sins.

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

Of course. But you don't want to acknowledge the inner change that has already taken place in we who believe....."for I delight in the Law of God after the inward man"......"the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of Him who created him." Haven't you experienced the new...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

We certainly are to affirm the truth. That doesn't mean being blind to ourselves though. Rom 6:2 By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

I think the wonderful, priceless, life and heart changing work that God wrought in us deserves much better than a cynical attitude like that.

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

I assume you're talking about mental assent....? That's the point though, it isn't just mental assent with true believers. Our faith is due to a miraculous intervention of God.

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

(shaking my head) There are reasons why believers know that we know that we don't belong to this world. We're in the world but not of it.

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

Doesn't matter who Amigo was talking to....it happens to be the plain and simple truth. Otherwise there is no difference at all between that form of "christianity" and the lost world that believes in the "Co-Exist" philosophy and the unity of all religions/faiths/practices. Friendship with the...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

Jesus said no man can come to the Father except through Him. And the apostle John wrote that if you have not the Son you have not the Father either. Can't be any more clear than that. HE is the Way (and the truth and the life)....the only Way.

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

I think so brother. Amen. Jesus said His meat (that which sustains/saves life) was to do the will of the one who sent Him. But I think Epi doesn't agree with what has already been accomplished in heaven. Because Jesus accomplished it on earth (in His vessel) on our behalf. And thus it was...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

Please let me know if I mis-speak or am incorrect on anything.....work in progress and always ongoing here.

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

I hear what you are saying and agree in principle, but to be precise according to the scripture we seek to die and not save our life/psuche, in order to be saved! Like Jesus...for the joy that is set before us. Truth is we have been crucified with Christ already......it's already done in...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

Yes it was long......but I wasn't sure if it was being understood or not, so I made another attempt to expound it just in case. Glad that you concur! :)

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

Amen.....it is only comm-union with Christ (one body, one flesh, one spirit).........that brings us into comm-union with His body of believers.

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

Amen. The communion of Christ is in contrast to the communion of devils. Pagans also ate of their sacrifices made to idols/demons in their pagan feasts. We can't participate in both, or the pagan sacrifice will cancel out the sacrifice made to God in effect....this is like a reiteration of...

Same here brother! Bless you! :)

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

Maybe there is something in needing to discern the Body of Christ in the people present, as well. I'm sure that treating the flock of Christ as common would bring judgment/chastisements too. Especially in light of what He said about beating one's fellow servants.

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

No it is not common when you are using the bread as a proxy for the body and blood of Jesus. Which is simply determined and distinguished by your intent and prayer. It is an offence to God to treat what is holy as profane and can't think of anything more holy than the Lamb of God who was...

How are we to reckon ourselves as being dead to sin?

Simply understanding what communion is, causes us to discern the Body of Christ, as opposed to it being ordinary (common) bread and wine for satiating the flesh.

    Heart Talks on Holiness

Amen, I like what you said there about not having any issues with however He may provide to make us holy. Same here. I've heard some call what we're discussing here a baptism of fire, burning up what remains of the flesh nature, according to how I've heard them testify of it.
