I don't mind at all, feel free to use what you find useful. :) ok, brother, so you're seeing the old man as being distinct from the outer man....I'll have to chew on that for a while. Amen, yes, transition phase....journeying from the initial salvation experience to one of crossing over...

Amen! "Except ye...become as little children ye shall in no wise enter the kingdom of heaven." "His strength is made perfect in weakness." (there goes that word again that we tend to balk at - it pops up everywhere - "perfect"!) :) "Suffer the little children to come unto me.....FOR OF...

Amen to what you're kindly expounding for us Episkopos. It seems that most of us Gentile believers have to pass through the childhood of trying to keep God's laws in our own flesh, just like the Jews (because it tutors us to Christ!) before really beginning to grow up into that fullness of the...

Amen, even though that movement was not perfect, I'm so glad too that light shone in the darkness and people were able to get free of the darkness! The bible says not to lean on our own understanding but in all our ways to acknowledge GOD (not the pope, not priests, not pastors).....our carnal...

Fair point with most of your post, though I think we need to define what is meant by the term "sola scriptura". It's a term not found in the bible, and I have both observed and experienced that arguing over man-made concepts leads to a lot of polarization and strife and is not helpful in the...

Amen, shalom to you and yours as well.

The Lord knows I can only handle simple, brother! Worse as I get older. lol. But His grace is sufficient, thank you Lord.

I'm more and more convinced there has to be a Promised Land this side of heaven, since the Israelites entered it, and since it is entered by "faith", which they were even rebuked for not having, and which faith won't be a factor once we're dead....we'll be seeing face to face then. Until we...

It is God's presence that sanctifies and makes holy, I believe. Holy ground was holy because God was manifesting Himself there. The Temple was holy when the Lord's presence dwelt there, until the glory departed. Likewise believers are made holy when His presence/spirit comes to dwell in the...

Love the scripture in Zechariah that says, not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit says the Lord. Most of us have been walking in our own power and might, trying to be righteous by our own self effort. Which is how we all start out...it's not a bad thing, it's a "good" thing, but just not...

I don't believe the bible talks about us being sinLESS as long as we remain in the body (mentioned in my post above). Because John wrote that we all "have" sin. (Only Jesus "had" no sin.) But that doesn't mean we have to necessarily "commit" sin. John also wrote that whoever is born of God...

I think regarding what John wrote, that there is a difference between "having" sin and "committing" sin. Sin dwells in our members, our physical body including our carnal minds, which will not be done away with until our bodies die. But that doesn't have to mean we necessarily have to "commit"...

Sorry to take so long to reply...computer problems. Well brother, I'm sure you'll bring those niggling things to the Lord that you mentioned in your OP. Bible says to let peace be your umpire...areas that we don't have peace about it's always good to pray about them. And God will always help...

Okay young friend, here are my thoughts. I hear God as saying this isn't going to profit you. :) Not a direct command, but it's never wise to ignore His word of wisdom when He goes to the trouble to give it to us. He gave me a wise word a long time ago when I was a new believer...I ignored...

Maybe this brother's problems and situation aren't the same as yours...we're all unique individuals before the Lord. The thing is we must not overlook that God spoke to this brother directly and he is honestly sharing the things that are troubling him about his working out. He needs to seek...

There does seem to be a sense of "worldliness" with society's current obsession with personal health overall. And it can become a bondage. Worth considering how the ancient Greeks and Romans were really into exercise and sports.....and with pampering spas on every street corner. Reminds me of...

Realizing that God is on His throne and sovereign and more powerful over everything in this world helps me to be at rest in Him. Trust is a big part of rest. Also focusing on Him rather than on what is going on in the world or on myself. "He will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is staid...

Yes, I know just what you mean. It's getting to be like the excesses that all resembles ancient pagan Rome isn't it....that almost seems to be the natural default position of mankind without the gospel. Nothing but the gospel can save people from the darkness they're caught up in and deceived...

Yes, though really there's nothing new under the sun with these things. There is so much wickedness in this world and always has been since the fall. When we were young we didnt' realize it, we had the pleasant illusions of youth, but now I'm older I've lost those illusions and see more...

Yes...it's very sad how the churches are not training up soldiers of the cross....they're doing the opposite....preaching/teaching too many feel-good sentimental lullaby messages and lulling everyone to sleep like babes......resulting in deceptions and so much sin in the camp, defying God to do...
