Some don't even know the person they are marrying! Anyway, enough of this...

    John Calvin and Calvinism.

Actually PS, I don't really care about what type of personality Calvin had. I care about what he taught because I believe it to be heretical. Heretical just means that it's contrary to orthodox Christian teaching...and, in fact, the reformed faith is the only faith that teaches what is does ---...

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

Jesus actually said that the Pharisees were keeping people far away from God by concentrating on the Law. Matthew 23:13 13“But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, because you shut off the kingdom of heaven from people; for you do not enter in yourselves, nor do you allow those who...

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

Going to synagogue is not ceremonial? How is it a moral law?

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

We wouldn't be able to drive on Saturday. Or go to work. Or who knows what else I can't think of right now. It wouldn't even be possible in our culture, Some give it their all and I can admire that. The ECFs did NOT celebrate the Sabbath. They changed to worshipping on Sunday to celebrate...

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

Well, dad, you're SUPPOSED to keep the 10 commandments... whether we can 100% of the time is another question... John 14:15 15“If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. John 5:28-29 . 28“Do not marvel at this; for an hour is coming, in which all who are in the tombs will hear His...

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

You're going to have to explain HOW. How is keeping the Sabbath a moral imperative? Going to the synagogue Not working (physical) Remembering God and praying How are these not ceremonial? Where does morality come into play?

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

If the Sabbath is NOT ceremonial... Then what is it and why?

    John Calvin and Calvinism.

You could do that reformedguy. And I can know what type of person Abraham Lincoln was, even though I never met him. We even know what type of persons some of the Apostles were, and we never met them.

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

Are you a Sabbath keeper? I agree with you that it's within the 10 commandments. But you'd have to agree that it IS a ceremonial Law.
  12. GodsGrace

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

    And not add to it.

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

See what I mean? Now the other poster will give you push back Because the Sabbath was really established in Exodus and for a very specific reason.

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

Agreed again. Maybe we shouldn't connect dots and then post what we get? Not sure. But it's a good thought. It's just that I'm trained to read scripture plainly and not add to it. No problem...

    John Calvin and Calvinism.

I read. I watch a lot of youtube lately because of problems with reading. What I know about RC is on his biography. You ask a funny question though. How do You know what you know? We live, we pick up information, we store it for future use.

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

I agree with this. But I don't believe Genesis specifically says this. I'm thinking of the Sabbath keepers. I've never heard this reasoning before. Do you agree that it's Your idea, or do you think it's written there?

    The 10 Commandments are FOREVER

How was the Sabbath instituted in the Garden?

    John Calvin and Calvinism.

Nice reply PS. But the reply will have to wait till I can type it. I do have one quick question I can manage on this phone... I've come into contact with some calvinists that will not reply to my posts. Why do you think this is so? Do I sound mean or demeaning?? Tomorrow...

    John Calvin and Calvinism.

I agree. What I stated about him was when he was in college, divinity school, and before he joined the reformed faith. Maybe I could find the quote...

    John Calvin and Calvinism.

I don't really care about Servetes. And I think Sproul might be a BIT prejudiced. I know this for sure....(not that it matters to doctrine) Calvin was a mean and bitter man. He had no joy in him and was very strict. He agreed that persons had to be forced to comply with his rules, or the rules...
