@Cristo Rei is a happy camper!

Could you just tell me?

Wait. Are you Christ the King?

Whoa! Yeah. Sometimes it's better to just stay away. Christmas blessings...

No. I don't know that. How are we selected?

Jesus is selected by God like we are? We're selected? AND we're like Jesus?

Doesn't everything have it's good and bad side? God made the first of everything... It's how we use it that counts. Be thankful for it.

Agreed. Merry Christmas to you too... and Pax to you too...

Tigger, I know what AUTO means, I speak 3 1/2 languages. I believe I stated it could be HER, HE OR IT. It depends on the CONTEXT. Don't need to look it up and am not planning on learning another language.

I'm reading John 1 going to the N.T. with no preconceived notions. Then a person runs into some scripture that is not so easy to understand. What is this WORD John speaks of? And other questions. I trust theologians to tell me what verses mean to THEM. Then I take everything into consideration...

Agreed. I bring it up because, as you probably know, the Didache was originally thought to range between 90 and 150AD. This has been narrowed down and most scholars put it at around 90, which, as you stated, is within the Apostolic era. Or, at least, the tail end of it. From the Didache? From...

May everyone here have a blessed Christmas and may the New Year bring health and joy. If you can, watch this till the end.

You are of value right now. You teach people right now. Don't underestimate yourself. When you love and serve God, everything you do is a work of honor.

Sorry Tigger, I didn't catch your last line and question. I believe that the N.T. can be read and understood by everyone. I used it to teach kids 9 to 12 and they understood most of it except the very theological stuff. Scholars translated the original Greek and even if they got one word wrong...

I know a priest that believes that hell is temporary. Please clarify YOUR belief..is it the above? Right now I do believe that wherever we end up, it will be forever.

What I mean about Protestantism is that we are getting farther and farther away from what has always been considered THE TRUTH. If every denomination, incl the independent ones, teach different doctrine, how are we to know which one is right and which one is wrong? I had occasion to watch a lot...

1. Why would the early theologians want to obscure the nature of God? 2. You want God to be logical. If we understood everything about God,,,we would have to be on the same par as God. We have a faith that is reasonable...but not all of it can be logical. We do not have the mind of God. Can...

We each see things our own way Jane. I truly don't believe the early fathers were blinded. They were taught by the Apostles, which I've stated many times and which you know. Russell was NOT taught by the Apostles. Who do YOU trust?

No. I attend a Catholic church and this is not preached. Jesus is preached and how we are to emulate Him, and serve our community. So you're saying that hell is not eternal? What does Jesus mean in Matthew 25:41 when He states that hell is everlasting? Eternal fire, Jude 1:7 Tormented day and...

No thanks Tigger! Auto means SELF.... it could be a HIM, HER, IT It's up to the reader/scholar to determine what it means in context. For instance, how do you grieve an IT? What do you believe the Holy Spirit is? And who is Jesus to you? I'm having a difficult time trying to figure out who...
