I found it impossible to stay a Catholic after learning that Jesus actually lives and wants to be our friend. Relationship trumped ritualism. I then found it impossible to stay a Pentecostal after learning of the Sabbath. The Sabbath led me to other revelations equally astonishing...

I've been an Adventist for 23 years. I know exactly what the church teaches on this topic, and I happen to agree with it. I think it is you who needs to read what they teach... It is you who is pretending to understand Adventist teachings better than the Adventists on those forum.

According to spiritualism, the occult, and every false pagan religion I can think of such as Hinduism and Buddhism etc, that is precisely what death means.

My point precisely. Eternal torment has them suffering the same. In the same fire for the same time. Annihilation as Adventists teach it, has them suffering for a varying time according to their works... Some with many stripes, some with less... And each individual will expire, die, after true...

I know of an absolute certainty... Even absolutely truthfully... That what I don't know is infinitely more than what I do know.

So, I've been studying the covenants recently, and my thoughts turned to the following. Our Creator God is a God of infinite, unfailing, unwavering, uncompromising love. It always has been and always will be that He would have His erring, sinful, proud and unbelieving creatures to know this...

Marks said... And I didn't disagree.... But by way of conversation and broadening the discussion a little too get perspective, I responded... To which you replied in your usual knee jerk manner... So I asked, And now you are running around in ever decreasing circles trying not to answer the...

Answer the question.

What you call religion is Christ's church, His vehicle for sharing the gospel throughout the world. And it was Christ Who led me to the church wherein I now serve. My allegiance isn't however to the church... It a human institution and flawed... Yet it has a purpose. My allegiance is to Christ...

So you are saying the OC was meant to exclude Gentiles? It was strictly only for Jews?

Do we then void the law by faith?

Would there not be an intrinsic moral value to simply obeying God because you recognise His authority over you? Might I suggest the old covenant was never intended to exclude Gentiles? Therefore whatever provisions and conditions that were attached to the OC applied to Gentiles as much as...

Mmm. So there's a way to worship God in accordance and harmony with the law?

Today we are assailled with politics. Politics that is beginning to impact every facet of daily living. The media is drowning us in daily conflict. Riots throughout the United States, cities burning, mobs demanding people cave to their agenda, threatening violence with vile abusive language and...

I don't mean this to be demeaning in any way, but I suspect your own theological expertise could be questioned if you believe your scripture quote has anything to do with casting aside a specific commandment of God. And I would even question Paul's authority to "delegitimize" a commandment.

My friend, I don't know of any other alternative other than life or death... Regardless of what those mean. I agree that life is unknown to us. No man has seen, heard, nor imagined what God has prepared etc. Yep, we don't know what will become as far as life is concerned. But death... That's a...

Like I said. And I'll say it again. Make sure you know what you are talking about before criticising someone's beliefs. SDAs do not teach that sinners cease to exist when Christ returns.

The Sabbath was sanctified... Set apart for holy use. Surely you wouldn't suggest that doing good for others is not a holy work?

Good question. But let us allow for an eighth day, just for the sake of argument. What did God do on the 'eighth' day after creation, the first day of the second week in other words? KJV Genesis 2 The First Sabbath 1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. 2 And...
