"Joint Declaration on the Doctrine of Faith" - Has 500 Years Taught Us Nothing?

An exception! My granddaughter. She has autism. I thank God that we were able to afford private treatment for her. Are details necessary?? The socialist system here is not good --- well, it's good for some things but not others. No use in getting into this. Kirk Douglas had a stroke. Who was...

    IS JESUS' SACRIFICE ETERNAL?

How could it be understood? How do we get into Jesus' mind??

    IS JESUS' SACRIFICE ETERNAL?

But with God there is no "time". If HE created time, then He can't be a part of it. If I make a watch,,,,I'm not a part of that watch.

    IS JESUS' SACRIFICE ETERNAL?

How could eternal be a space of time? Eternal means without beginning and without end....

"Joint Declaration on the Doctrine of Faith" - Has 500 Years Taught Us Nothing?

Can't comment to the first paragraph. To the second...no..it's not indoctrination...Those without sufficient money suffer more than those who have it. IOW, would you rather have an illness WITH money or WITHOUT money? As far as adults being insane... Someone once told me we're all insane in...

    IS JESUS' SACRIFICE ETERNAL?

A poster just said this: Yes, it [Christ's sacrifice] is eternal...in its result, NOT ITS PROCESS. Is Jesus' sacrifice eternal just in its result, or ALSO in its process? What exactly does eternal mean? This is a definition of the word: eternal [ih-tur-nl] See more synonyms for eternal on...

"Joint Declaration on the Doctrine of Faith" - Has 500 Years Taught Us Nothing?

I hear about Sweden...I don't know enough about Sweden...I can only speak to what I know and what I've experienced. I don't even care for poles or surveys...they tend to be political and superficial. I hear Norway is supposed to be great too. They've achieved some sort of balance between...

"Joint Declaration on the Doctrine of Faith" - Has 500 Years Taught Us Nothing?

Very interesting point about demons not doing works! (in relationship to their having faith) And, it seems to me that all of scripture is subject to interpretation, although it's obvious that some of it is twisted out of recognition so someone could prove THEIR point of view. Of course, I'd be...

"Joint Declaration on the Doctrine of Faith" - Has 500 Years Taught Us Nothing?

This is an interesting concept that I've never thought of... What does eternal mean? This is an explanation of how God is eternal: “The attribute of eternity means that God exists endlessly. His existence extends endlessly backward and forward (from our viewpoint of time) without any...

"Joint Declaration on the Doctrine of Faith" - Has 500 Years Taught Us Nothing?

P, People called the bishops of the five important geographical areas of Christianity Papa from the beginning. Alexandria, Constantinople, Rome, Jerusalem, Antioch. It was to distinguish them from all the other bishops, of which each area had one as the head of the priests of that area. I've...

I've given BoL a few likes. I must say that I don't care for his attitude...it's not very Christianly.

"Joint Declaration on the Doctrine of Faith" - Has 500 Years Taught Us Nothing?

Good catholics know very little about the bible and are just starting to learn (compared to Protestants). And, they're rather nice persons. I don't think BoL properly represents catholicism and I've been telling him this since I got here. Well, actually, I've given up. I can understand his...

"Joint Declaration on the Doctrine of Faith" - Has 500 Years Taught Us Nothing?

I believe there's only one place in the N.T. that believe is used to mean believe the way we use it today....mental assent. In N.T. times and in Greek, believe, at that time, means to entrust, have faith in...etc. This can be confirmed by checking out the Greek,,, We always forget that the...

I agree with your last statement. But are is the above saying there will never be a real earthly Kingdom? I do believe that at the end, we will be united with our bodies and live here in a new earth.

"Joint Declaration on the Doctrine of Faith" - Has 500 Years Taught Us Nothing?

Agreed. Socialism is supposed to make everyone be the same...yes, the same as in poverty stricken! It brings everyone down...not up; which is what's promised in that ism. As you your friend, you said he had little faith --- sounds to me like he's an atheist. And, as you said, atheists believe...

"Joint Declaration on the Doctrine of Faith" - Has 500 Years Taught Us Nothing?

All of the above is correct... But it's also correct to say that salvation produces good works. If one wants to serve God, he WILL do good works. Some that make that statement believe in eternal security OR they don't believe in works....But the statement itself is correct.

Proof: You were only forgiven of your past sins!

What do you mean you hope it helps? I didn't ask you anything! That one verse sure does teach a lot,,,I don't know where you learned your interpretation. Mathew 27:51 states that when Jesus died on the cross, the veil to the inner part of the temple, the HOLY OF HOLIES, was torn from top to...
