The Bible is more a record of those who "know", than those who "believe."

It is the latter. The faith of a Christian is rooted in established truth. People who have not had confirmation can rest assured that their faith is not in vain, that they are not gambling on whether or not their faith will prove to be the truth.

Can a Christian be only partly saved?

I am not sure just where you are coming from here. But the unsaved, whether friend or stranger, are those who sleep. If we then walk in the spirit of life instead of the spirit of death, then yes, we are a witness to life in God among those who might otherwise perish. So it is written, "among...

The Bible is more a record of those who "know", than those who "believe."

No...but it is those who exercise faith that are all the more esteemed by God. The faithful who do the will of God, will hear Him say, "Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord." But...

Can a Christian be only partly saved?

The conversation was directed toward the saved, but you have just presented the unsaved, which, yes, could use our witness.

Can a Christian be only partly saved?

Everything is immediate with God. When and [if] we are born again of the spirit of God, that new creation is new in us, but eternal in God. We do not walk in darkness any longer, not one bit, but in the light, for God is with us. With God there is no beginning and no end - this is that new...

Can a Christian be only partly saved?

Michael, Many find it confusing to think that a person who seems to continue in sin, could somehow be "perfect" or instantly "sanctified." Yet the scriptures tell us that we are a "new" creation, that it is in fact no longer we who live but Christ who lives in us. So, if we are going to...

The Bible is more a record of those who "know", than those who "believe."

You bounced around so as to make it hard to follow. Which, of course, is not unlike the word of God at first glance. I give you that. But there is a simple and clear way of God, and it is not dispersed among other faiths, but rather one ribbon of truth according to Him alone, down through all...

ScottA and Tigger 2 discuss Who is God?

Yes, and there is a simpler way to understand the personages of God: "Let us make man in [our] image", "I and the Father are One", "If you have seen Me, you have seen the Father", etc.. But the verse that is being debated, has its own more complex path of truth. He asked.

ScottA and Tigger 2 discuss Who is God?

I have just showed you the end from the beginning - the complete mystery of God, in a few paragraphs, in summary. But you are still in the middle and now have decided against adventure. Thus, the debate has no winner. If it is a one word answer you seek...you have it. God is God.

ScottA and Tigger 2 discuss Who is God?

Yes...and yet I do not say so to concede, but to express my knowledge of what should be a coming around full-circle to recognize the parable of creation, the manifestation of the things of God. But if we are only capable of coming to this place as a halfway point and only converse on the level...

ScottA and Tigger 2 discuss Who is God?

Ah, which will require climbing further out on the limb. Which should not be a problem...because that is where we are, where we come on the scene. Romans 12:4 For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, Romans 12:5 so we, being many, are one body...

ScottA and Tigger 2 discuss Who is God?

No problem with the other verses. Here it is here: So...John 17:3 which seems to indicate "You the only true God" is only referring to the Father, is not. But rather by the parable given in the creation of life "according to its own kind" as pertains to trees and men, it shows Jesus giving a...

    The proof of OSAS

Thanks. I think you mean: 2 Corinthians 1:22 who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.

ALL: I am totally fine with other input or questions. I will however, make make my main focus the debate between myself and tigger 2.

ScottA and Tigger 2 discuss Who is God?

Correct, we note that it is just the manifestation of the Son who came at the appointed time.

ScottA and Tigger 2 discuss Who is God?

Okay...so according to what you have just said, there is a Father, a Son, and a Holy Spirit. Still, your only assertion that the Father is the only true God, is that Jesus referred to Him as the only true God, and that it is unclear that the Holy Spirit is the true God. You see, I have just...

ScottA and Tigger 2 discuss Who is God?

Okay, and thank you. First, I would like to point out that it would appear that you are purposing to substantiate something that your choice of passages is unable to show either way. You see, until Jesus referred to God as Father, God was simply God. In other words, what establishes God as...

The problem with Phil. 2:6, 7 (part 3)

Sounds good! First, let me just say, I initially spoke in terms that challenge, hoping for a response. But from now on I will not do so, but will instead speak and allow you to speak in reasonable terms, rather than baiting. I am happy to honor your request to stick to one verse. Perhaps you...

The problem with Phil. 2:6, 7 (part 3)

I don't know exactly how the debate features work here... But I would be happy to enlighten you regarding the Oneness of Jesus as God Almighty.

    End of Sand

Ah...how apropos! The spiritual meaning? At the cross, the hourglass was turned to run the other way. As for water? Those [born again] of the spirit (waters above) of God are leaving daily.
