Once Saved....always Saved - Results of Questionnaire.

1 John 3:9 is speaking about sins. Committing sins. If you notice in the verses before this, John says that we are children of God. The persons he's speaking to are already saved...what John is referring to is the sins that we commit, or, living a life of sin. I'd go with living a life of...

    A most shocking response

Does this mean I have plenty of time to come here to argue? Would you say my goal in life is to argue with those here about God? You don't have to respond to any of my posts, it's your right. I retain the right to answer to yours. I like to speak to everyone, not just those who agree with me.

@pia was asking if we are a Church. That would be the Body of Christ. Yes, we are the Body. But I wouldn't say we're a church. So I agree with you. Even though we don't all agree on every point, we're still united.

    Are you catholic?

This is not true. Some children are not disciplined with love and the discipline does more damage than good. And some are damaged forever.

    Saved By Fear?

John said God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. John 3:16 Jesus said if we love Him we will obey Him. John 14:15 Is love on our part necessary for salvation? Can we be saved if we fear God? Or only if we love Him?

Rambling is good. Ideas emerge. Sin as a noun Sin as a verb Even John spoke of it interchangeably in the verse you quoted, 1 John 1:7. He's referring to sinning but says sin. Since Jesus took away the sin of the world And the sins of the world, I guess we can't be too fussy about how each word...

A deathbed conversion is not easy. The heart is too hard by then. But with God anything is possible. But you bring up an interesting question... Can we be saved out of fear?? Or only love??

Children know when they're being disciplined with love.

It does seem obvious since after death it's too late. Thanks for clarifying.

Christ in our deathbed... There is never any condition set to be saved as regards a time frame. If one is honest, he can be saved even on his deathbed. Scripture for this would be Mathew 20:1-16 The parable of the laborers. As long as we remember that God cannot be mocked.

I think they meant church, small c. The building, not the Body. Are we a church? I've learned a lot on these forums.

Great Secrets And Revelation Of The Cross

Man could hardly obey the Law in the Mosaic Covenant, let alone be a new creation. This took Jesus. Being our sacrifice, our atonement, our propitiation. He was everything for man. Our example, our life, the light, and all those who believe in Jesus have His light in them and then can it be...

My heart is hurting.. Praying for my Mom

Hi TbyG My mother died of ovarian cancer. I can tell you that right now is the scariest time for you. You'll find that as time goes on, you'll receive the strength you need. God gives us the strength we need for today, not the strength we need for tomorrow. One day at a time, sweet Jesus. I...

    Tulip

Of course your answers won't be to my liking! But we can still talk. Truth derived from scripture, as you say, should not be changed. In order to hold to Calvinism, one must change the meaning of words: All does not mean all Whosoever does not mean whosoever. You've given me new meanings for...

    Are you catholic?

My goodness Marymog... Get beyond that last sentence in the OP. It's a euphamism for saying that he probably would have had a nice argument with the church if he were older and believed as he believes now. I don't believe any posters here go around punching people.

You wrote a lot, so I'll comment as I go along. What you wrote above is spirituality in a nutshell. We're either with God or against God. No inbetween. Mathew 12:30 Very good. God revealed Himself a little at a time. Almost as if we couldn't understand everything all at once. And, I believe...
