Again, completely missing the point. Your theory is THE ONLY REASON anyone ever goes to prison is debt.

I agree with @stunnedbygrace. The man who was deeply in debt was forgiven his debt THEN put in prison. This tells us he was imprisoned for a reason other than his debt; namely, his refusal to forgive. This aligns with other Scriptures perfectly.

Really? Pick One: A. Men are included as Wife & Bride of Christ & Homosexuality is allowed. B. Homosexuality is prohibited as well as men making up the Wife & Bride of Christ. As Scripture currently reads, homosexuality is condemned, unless it is the Wife and Bride of Christ.

The point of this thread is why does the Bible call men to be the Bride and Wife of Christ WHILE also condemning homosexuality. Then, this apparent contradiction becomes an understandable wedge issue for why people don’t believe, don’t come to Christ.

I had a similar experience, only the guy was wearing shorts on a very hot day. The priest argued loudly with him, then threw him out. Cleanliness before godliness, I suppose. If I were either of these guys, I would not go to either church denomination again.

Another non-value added post. If you don’t want to have a conversation about this curiosity, then feel free to post in other threads.

Sorry but cultural orientation is not a gimmick. Said differently, why make music, language or dress an obstacle to bringing people to Christ?

I'm glad of that. I figured as much. :D While I won't get upset, I see studying original languages as adjunct to rightly dividing the word of truth. I see it differently, always an unwelcome distraction to God's word. I prefer to study different English translations, including...

I'm afraid you completely missed my point.

LOL. No. I have 17 grandchildren (depending on how you count). My wife was telling me a great untruth - that one of them will turn 2 in a couple of days. I told her that is impossible since she was just born the week before last. LOL They grow up so fast and I miss not seeing all of them...

10 years old. :)

Just finished reading Revelations. I'll add the verses later but it occurred to me why people don't believe and it involves sex and time. Regarding sex; condemnations against homosexuality has to be seen as in the context of the Bride and Wife of the Lamb, who is made up of many men. Regarding...

I recently had a ‘Bible Study’ with my young granddaughters. It consisted of one verse from Jeremiah, When you seek me with all your heart, you will find me. We talked about it from different angles from their level of understanding. I told them that God begins where you end to address the...

Funny story … The 1st year I began to read the Bible I joined a Bible Study group. An old timer was genuinely impressed with my ability to articulate Biblical principles and relationships between verses and books. He asked how long I have studied the Bible. When I told him 6 months, he was...

There are many threads that delve into what the Bible says in its original language (OT Hebrew, NT Greek). English has never been my strong suit, let alone foreign languages of any kind and this got me wondering. I rely on English translations as an English speaking person. Is it even fair to...

It's not surprising the the world today is pushing an ideology contrary to God's word with everyone getting a trophy, learning 'different' and great and special in 'different' ways. Even constructive criticism is denounced as hate speech, even in secular matters, like ones batting stance.

I don't know much about Calvinism, but like JW, there seems to be a lot of criticism on these boards about it. Could you give a summary of Calvinism? (I take it you are a practicing Calvinist).

Thanks! :) And I think this goes back to my opposition to Church Bashing. I don't have to know WHY the 30,000 denominations have different doctrines to respect the WHAT, they are Christ followers who are doing their level best to advance the kingdom of God with the light that God gave them to...

I’ve noticed people tend to be biased toward the HOW or WHY as a means to escape the WHAT. So and so died. Is not accepted unless people know HOW so and so died. Years ago my sister talked about our father wanting several days notice )when she knows, such as a restaurant reservation) to...

I think it’s awe-inspiring that your church even has a brew room.
