1 John 3:9 - Is it cannot "practice" sin, or cannot "commit" sin?

If you contradict scripture, and you do, you really have no business here at all.

1 John 3:9 - Is it cannot "practice" sin, or cannot "commit" sin?

Actually, neither I nor any other born again saint has any burden of proof about anything. The Holy Spirit is He who convicts of sin and convinces of truth. If Jesus couldn't prove Himself to the priests, scribes, Pharisees and Herodians, who are you to demand proof? It's all in scripture for...

1 John 3:9 - Is it cannot "practice" sin, or cannot "commit" sin?

9Now He also told this parable to some people who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and viewed others with contempt: 10“Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11The Pharisee stood and began praying this in regard to himself: ‘God, I...

1 John 3:9 - Is it cannot "practice" sin, or cannot "commit" sin?

So you believe Paul lied. The law required the death of those who spoke blasphemy and by stoning. Since most of the Jews did not recognize Jesus as equal to God, including the Apostle Thomas, they were required by law to stone Him and tried to in Nazareth.

1 John 3:9 - Is it cannot "practice" sin, or cannot "commit" sin?

Jesus also taught the prophets. He did nothing but what the Father showed Him. He did the works of the Father from scripture and everything He did was in fulfillment of the Law and the prophets.

1 John 3:9 - Is it cannot "practice" sin, or cannot "commit" sin?

Nope. Jesus was teaching that men can't possibly meet the requirements of righteousness and said it was impossible for men to do so. "25When the disciples heard this, they were very astonished and said, “Then who can be saved?” 26And looking at them, Jesus said to them, “With people this is...

1 John 3:9 - Is it cannot "practice" sin, or cannot "commit" sin?

When you start with fiction, you end with fiction. Jesus was a rabbi teaching grace from the Law. He came fulfilling the law. The new covenant was not initiated until the last supper and even then the Apostles were clueless about His death and resurrection.

1 John 3:9 - Is it cannot "practice" sin, or cannot "commit" sin?

No, you're not getting it. The jews were in a covenant of law that was fulfilled at the cross. This was exemplified by Zechariah, the father of John the Baptist, who was called righteous yet disbelieved the angel Gabriel (who appeared to him in the temple and told him that his wife would bear a son.

1 John 3:9 - Is it cannot "practice" sin, or cannot "commit" sin?

So now we're arguing from fantasy and imagination? Or are you just a fraud?

1 John 3:9 - Is it cannot "practice" sin, or cannot "commit" sin?

Oh foolish first century lady : 1You foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified? 2This is the only thing I want to find out from you: did you receive the Spirit by works of the Law, or by hearing with faith? 3Are you so foolish...

1 John 3:9 - Is it cannot "practice" sin, or cannot "commit" sin?

No I'm neither naive nor familiar with Calvin's teaching. I'm born again and taught by God. While it seems that you're just another dismissive cultist.

1 John 3:9 - Is it cannot "practice" sin, or cannot "commit" sin?

It might not make sense to you because you don't accept context. Jesus wasn't teaching Gentiles in the gospels with only one or possibly 2 exceptions. He was teaching the law and the prophets to Jews under the law.

1 John 3:9 - Is it cannot "practice" sin, or cannot "commit" sin?

This is just ignorant. The Apostle Paul was a Pharisee before the Lord met him on the road to Damascus and revealed that it was He whom Saul was persecuting. "4although I myself could boast as having confidence even in the flesh. If anyone else thinks he is confident in the flesh, I have more...

1 John 3:9 - Is it cannot "practice" sin, or cannot "commit" sin?

The Lord doesn't require a defense of the truth, but you will have to explain your lies, your false testimony and witness. Shame on you.

1 John 3:9 - Is it cannot "practice" sin, or cannot "commit" sin?

So you don't believe Jesus? "39But the Lord said to him, “Now you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and of the dish; but your inside is full of greed and wickedness. 40You foolish ones, did He who made the outside not make the inside also? " Luke 11:39-40 Shame on you for denying the...

1 John 3:9 - Is it cannot "practice" sin, or cannot "commit" sin?

All have sinned, not some. "21But now apart from the Law the righteousness of God has been revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, 22but it is the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe; for there is no distinction, 23for all have sinned and...

1 John 3:9 - Is it cannot "practice" sin, or cannot "commit" sin?

Like doesn't seem sufficient as a rating for your post. I love it. The site should add little hearts or something so I don't have to do so much pecking at my tablet.

1 John 3:9 - Is it cannot "practice" sin, or cannot "commit" sin?

Thanks for some comic relief. I love when a poll gives only 2 responses as though there were only 2 possible answers. Sometimes people try to put you in a box so that they can control whether or not you can get out, but if Christ sets you free, you are free indeed.

1 John 3:9 - Is it cannot "practice" sin, or cannot "commit" sin?

Your posts are showing growth. I'm in full agreement with you. We have many exhortations to put away sin, but we have clear instructions to focus on righteousness rather than sin. I noticed quite some time ago, that while reading through scripture regularly from Genesis to Revelation, that my...
