- No man may die for another man's sins, for he must die for his own sin (2 Chronicles 25:4): but the Lord was without sin, so He could lay down His life for others, as a sin offering (Hebrews 9:28) .
- No man has ever gone up to heaven, save the One Who came down out of Heaven - the Lord Jesus Christ (John 3:13).
- There is One Who has immortality - (1 Timothy 6:16).

Actually...yes I was. I was called by my parents to be good or Santa wouldn't bring me my gifts. So I was required to do something that proved I believed in him.

I still say you are seeing men lying (saying they believe but proving they don't) and so you want "to believe" and "to have faith" to mean different things.

When we are speaking about believing Jesus, for a man to say he believes he will live forever but then to not believe God will provide for his temporal needs, (proving it by his worries), the man is just believing one thing Jesus said, But he isn't abiding(continuing in belief.) That's like Israel, with the belief that God would save them so they stepped out under the wall of water, but then their hearts afterwards becoming evil and unbelieving about provision and food and water.

It proves that one must abide (continue in belief/faith.) It proves that there can be no deal to cheat death. Israel couldn't say: I believed in Him and now I am saved and Gods hands are now tied as regards any subsequent unbelief/unfaithfulness on my part. And yet that's what men say regarding themselves all the time!

But we all see some things differently I guess.

With respect, the fact that the promise of the comforter was made to the Apostles themselves is a a matter of record, and is therefore incontrovertible (John 14:16; John 14:26; John 15:26; John 16:7).

That the Apostle Paul received of the Holy Spirit is also a matter of record (Acts 9:17): as did Cornelius and the other Gentiles for whom the door to the Kingdom was opened by Peter at God's direction (Acts 10); and upon all who believe on the Lord Jesus, and are saved by God's grace.

The Holy Spirit is called the Holy Spirit of promise, because He was promised, but also that He is the seal of God's promise to every believer. (Ephesians 1:13)

Its a bit odd to say you guess you can't speak further with a person until they know something but not share that something you know but they don't...

Rom 8:9 says that the Spirit of God dwells in you and that the Spirit of Christ dwells in you. It does not say how. You read that and say it is literally the Spirit dwells in you. There are more passages that say Christ and the father dwell in you. But you know Christ does not literally dwell in you. The Spirit dwells in you when you allow his word to be the guide for your life.
Let the Bible explain. Here are parallel passages....
Ephesians 5:18-19 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

In the above parallel passages we see the same thought. He is saying the same thing in a different way. In one we are to be filled with the spirit. In the other we are to let the word dwell in us. He is teaching the same thing. How is one filled with the Spirit? When they let the word dwell in them. This is the Bible explaining and being it’s own best commentary. The Spirit doesn’t dwell in you unless you allow the word to be your guide.
Ok, how’s that?

Matthew 5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
When you read Mt 15 you find that the Pharisees went about to establish there own righteousness through the doctrines of men. 15:8,9.
In order for your righteousness to exceed theirs you need to obey God and not man made doctrine. The Bible says throughout that we are not to turn to the right or to the left. So, your righteousness (or the means by which someone is made righteous) should be greater then the Pharisees (who used their own man made means for righteousness). Meaning....believe in what God says and not man. If the “pastor” tells you that salvation is by faith plus nothing, instead of following false man made doctrine, you need to follow what the Bible actually says about salvation if you want to enter the kingdom of heaven. The “sinners prayer” won’t do it.

Just wanted to ask if you believe that you have any gift of the Holy Spirit, not speaking of the miraculous gifts. Because I am also a cessationist.

No I do not. We are all individuals. We all possess certain abilities, qualities, talents, etc. we can use whatever abilities we have within the kingdom to help it advance. Those aren’t gifts of the HS. They are just a part of who we are as individuals.
