30 Reasons To Quit Social Media

Social media influencers are great at driving me and other people crazy by inventing problems, constantly moving the goalpost, and selling their terrible advice as the solution.

It also very purposefully tries to make you angry and upset about news and events you have no control over.

As a Mom, do you know how much random horrible parenting hacks and momfluencers were in my feed trying to sell me a "revolutionary" parenting method? I couldn't take it anymore.

And yes, forums are social media but there's a reason why I'd rather be on here.

I quit facebook because I got tired of keeping up with peoples lives. I don't really come here often but have been lately due to bored and prob just want to share some thoughts here and there amongst people. I just really desire for people to be aware for themselves and to think for themselves just like the social media infleuncers even mega church pastors all that stuff man while people can investigate whatever they want to. For me its best to remind them to look to the Father in heaven and be thankful for the Lord Jesus... really cause shoot he is all we have to get to the Father if they are a person who is a believer I hope they continue to be faithful and trust God and he will help people by the Spirit of Christ and they know that he will cause they are already believers.


Paul said it was never a problem to remind the people he wrote to of these things.

I still love youtube, shoot it was all I grew up on after I stopped watching cable tv. But I got mgm+ to watch some good movies its only 8$ a month and it shows like one ad and no more the rest of the way through. I think it is good for people to do things and not just sit around but also nuture themselves on the things of God of course most of all because that he is the source which will feed your soul and help your new spiritual person grow in the Spirit of Christ as they continue on in this life as they grow and mature. Being a child of God from falling over and stumbling and pushing people over and around into growing up to walk and understand and learn and grow and try to meet people where they are at and understand that we are all human and it's the Spirit of Christ that helps.

To have peace, mercy, kindness, forgivenss, longsuffering and the like as the bible shares.

Forums are legit cool. They were around before Facebook or Twitter. I've never understood the obsession people have with Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc. They're all so boring to me.

This is now making me also want to come off FB...I came in kicking and screaming when I joined initially, because of friends, nieces and nephews etc...it would be a shame to lose all of my photos but...I think I will be leaving also, great video BTW!

Facebook should let you keep the photos as an option in your account settings.

I created a Facebook many many years ago and kept it for a short time to find old friends I had lost track of, erased it immediately after. Social media has become a problem for many and they should quit it has become a control and propagande machine, a total waste of time.

I used to be a Twitter junkie. Over time, I realized that more often than not I would be more agitated, sad, angry, hopeless, what have you after hours of doom scrolling.

One day, the automatic login reset. It asked for my password, which I couldn't remember. So I stopped going there. Soon, I wasn't feeling so jangly all the time. And now I have no interest in going back.

I'm thankful to have deactivated my Facebook account. I just use their messenger service now. I have a limited amount of empathy to give that should mostly be going to my loved ones and not folks on a social media account. I keep up with my family through a group text and have a handful of friends. That's all I can really handle in this season.

I've been criticized online for not being compassionate enough. I can't so heavily invest in someone I've never even met. You got a problem. I'm sorry to hear that. Consider these solutions ... done.

Several reasons. It's addictive. It's obsessive. It's a time-sink. It tempts me during hours that belong to my employer. It brings out some of my worst sinful attitudes, like pride, arrogance, ill temper, and contempt for some of the idiots out there. It makes me combative over trivial issues and personal insults. It's emotionally exhausting. It leads me to be concerned about strangers I'll never meet while neglecting real people whose lives I can actually affect.

I can see how it might be detrimental for those with other demands on their time
but for older folk, it is a godsend.

You may not know that loneliness is a fact of life for many older people living on their own, especially when they have limited mobility.

I hope you will remember this and make a point of reaching out to such people in your community ... it will be appreciated I am sure.

i have no doubt i will not see eighty , but nor will this world .
I got good news . To depart and be with CHRIST is far far better .
