Philip at Samaria preached ‘the things concerning the kingdom of God, AND the name of Jesus Christ;’ that is, he faithfully told the people those ‘things’ which the Bible says about the kingdom, and also the ’things’ which it says about the name of Christ. The gospel of the kingdom is composed of these two great departments of truth. God has forever joined them together, and let no man put them asunder. The apostles advocated but ‘one faith’ (Ephes. iv, 5), and so if we find what one preached we find what all preached, wherever they went. Now Scripture testifies that not only Philip in Samaria but also Paul in Ephesus preached the things concerning the kingdom. Therefore they all, wherever they went, preached the things concerning the kingdom. Acts viii, 12; xix, 8. I once heard a fashionable preacher before a large audience mutilate that instructive and precious verse, Acts viii, 12, by misquoting it thus, - ‘when they believed Philip preaching, they were baptized, both men and women.’ Was not this like trying to suppress and strangle the doctrine of the kingdom?”

Actually that is not correct.
Its not correct to find a subject........such as "doctrine for the NT church" and then use any and all OT verse to find the context.

And the reason is........ the OT is dealing with unsaved Jews, who are the elect, and are under the Old Covenant.
So, if you try to use those verses to teach NT Covenant Theology, you will end up confused, and teach nonsense, or what the NT refers to as : = Heresy.

It by comparing "scripture with scripture" that we define the distinctions in the word of God.

The OT Covenant, is not the NT Covenant, so, you can't just "grab bag" verses from the OT, and try to overlay them, contextually regarding the NT Doctrines.
It wont fit..it won't match.....its not the SAME...........and if you try to make them fit, then you end up creating pretexts that are heresy, = false doctrines.

It’s easy to find Paul preaching the gospel of the kingdom in scripture. You haven’t harmonized the passages. Not only are you opposing the Messiah’s preaching, you’re opposing Paul’s preaching.

It‘s through the preaching of the gospel of the kingdom that disciples are made. That’s the biblical model. That’s the Messiah’s evangelism program.

Anyone who teaches against preaching of the gospel of the kingdom to all mankind has not been sent by the Messiah. Such persons are false preachers and teachers. They are anti-Messiah.
