I just went through and grabbed some statements to respond to. Not opposing all of them. I kept them small because they were just a gleaning.
I see. I find it easier to use the “reply” button for quotes. That way, everyone can see who is being quoted. No big deal. It’s easy to be confused on a lazy Saturday afternoon. It is Saturday, isn’t it??o_O

Indeed. Very astute. Mormons fail to recognize the centrality of *regeneration* in our Salvation. It isn't enough to just *do good.* If that was true, then Salvation would be by a positive balance of good vs evil in our works.

But Christ himself determined that was not enough. Though it is reasonable to believe good works are important in Salvation, they are not what actually save us. What saves us is the exclusive work of Christ by which we are *regenerated,* and receive a brand new nature.

This new nature solves the problem of our doing carnal works because we no longer live in the carnal Man. When we sin we temporarily divert away from our spiritual nature, but we do not thereby deny our spiritual nature. When we repent we return to living in our spiritual nature.

By contrast, those who live in their carnal nature, and sometimes choose the good and sometimes the evil live in a nature that does not rise to the status of a Saved Life. The truly Saved Life is a *spiritual life,* and nothing else.
I'm not going to derail the thread by arguing over the doctrine of entire sanctification here.

I don’t see any bold in your post. Do you mean the large text? It’s very legible.

I was confused about the smaller text above the large text. Is it a quote from JBF?
Just a summary of a few statements that I gleaned. And as you can tell I am addressing JBF.....He is a likable sort. I am not looking to condemn them just gathering them. But in the future I will not do that being duly instructed by the ladies.

Ahhh the female voice.....nothing like it. God bless the females on this forum. Without you it would be really boring!
I agree. Come to think of it, without women, life would be impossible. But I’m afraid I’m off topic.

And frankly, nobody should be persecuting anybody on a Christian forum
Fact is, some people who come on Christian forums are not really Christians.

And Jesus promised us that if we are His we will be persecuted by such.

Of course it is a sin to persecute other people; but I would say also that it must be par for the course on any forum where some are truly Christian and others only claim to be.

Gal 4:28, Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
Gal 4:29, But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.

With regard to the differences, my wife has told me repeatedly over the years that men grow old whereas women simply mature as does fine wine. She is just days short of being 7 years younger than me and I hold onto those few days when it seems to be only 6 years... [Nov 24 to Dec 3 each year] :):D

We are quick to condemn the Mormons for their non-biblical traditions and all the while hold some ourselves. Where do we see ANYBODY in scripture "receiving Jesus as their Lord and savior"? Where is the sinner's prayer mentioned except with "Lord be merciful to me a sinner"? Where was anyone saved by "asking Jesus into their heart"? I to believe in salvation by faith alone but we must weigh these words of the Lord Jesus carefully and recognize that true faith brings obedience and that grace empowers us to do so. Can anyone provide another recipe for the indwelling of the Holy Spirit besides what is spoke of here?

Jn 14:15-17
If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

Jn 14:23-24 If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.

See John 1:12; Romans 10:9-13.
Are you going to answer the question or just post a bunch of scriptures that are not salient to the inquiry? I am serious, this is the sort of response I get every time I ask this question to those in bondage to their religious traditions. They never address the actual point but present some straw man that isn't being discussed and miss the argument altogether.

They are indeed salient to the inquiry, if you would but look them up and consider how they apply to the question at hand.

Where is anyone asking Jesus into their heart? Where is anyone praying the sinner's prayer? Where is salvation being given because someone "accepted" Jesus as Lord and savior?

Read the verses.

They promise salvation to those who receive the Lord and/or call upon His name in prayer.

There are Christians that do not like religious statures....and that goes for God too. Ironically for these people, God has to be a statue because if He moves a muscle....they are screaming demonic Paganism.
