Daniel's number is FIVE:
Dan. 2:41 Just as you saw that the feet and toes were partly of baked clay and partly of iron, so this will be a divided kingdom ...
Dan. 2:45 ... the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver and the gold ... = 4,3,5,2,1 = FIVE
As the saying goes:
Ignorance can be cured, but stupidity is forever. Unfortunately, most people prefer their stupidity, otherwise they'd look around and find that we are in a "
Divided Kingdom" as shared by THREE SUPERPOWERS and a UNITED NATIONS.
If it were only as simple as being IGNORANT ...

The passage indicates a "4th Kingdom," but not a "5th Kingdom." The 4th Kingdom is the one that ends all of the other ones.
The Iron Kingdom continues into a later phase of the same Kingdom, now mixed Clay and Iron. It's still the Iron Kingdom. The Feet are connected to the Legs in the same way that the Hands are connected to the Arms--just one Kingdom each.
The 4 Kingdoms of Dan 2 match the 4 Kingdoms of Dan 7, and match the 4 Cherumbin of Eze 1 and Rev 4 in number. *4* appears to be a special number with respect to conquest--not 5.
As an aside, the Church Fathers generally saw the Kingdoms as 4 in number--not 5. And many scholars in history have seen it the same. What scholars view it as "5 Kingdoms?" Just curious if you know?
Can the 4th Kingdom legitimately have 2 phases, or must the Feet and Toes have to be a 5th Kingdom? Yes, a latter phase of one of these 4 Kingdoms can have 2 phases, early and latter, of the same Kingdom.
Greece is the 3rd Kingdom, and contains the Alexander the Great phase and a later division into 4 Kingdoms stage. The stomach becomes the 2 thighs, indicating, I believe, Egypt and Syria. But initially, Alexander's Kingdom broke up into 4 Kingdoms without it being called a 4th Kingdom. Rome was the 4th Kingdom.
As the 4th Kingdom in Dan 7 has the 4th Kingdom contain the 10 horns, so the 4th Kingdom in Dan 2 has the 4th Kingdom contain the 10 toes. Nebuchadnezzar's Dream and Daniel's Dream took place as 2 separate witnesses to the same truth, that 4 Kingdoms represent to Jews of that time major imperial players in their part of the world, Babylon, Persia, Greece, and Rome.
The Roman Kingdom has not yet been defeated by any outside power. It entered into a new stage after the fall of Rome and after the fall of Constantinople. Both "Legs" continue to exist in the form of European kingdoms that will eventually evolve into the Antichristian Kingdom. They are all called the "Roman Kingdom."
Rome figures prominently in the book of Revelation, if only in hidden cryptic form. Obviously, God would not give John to blatantly proclaim the depravity and ultimate destruction of Rome openly. He gave it, particularly in Rev 17, in mysterious form, utilizing riddles. For those with eyes to see, let him see.
