What's wrong with everyone having their base need's granted freely? You know Jesus will do that exact thing if he ever returns.
Because things don't just appear every morning as if by magic.

Do you not understand that in order for something to be "free" for one person, another person has to work and pay for it in addition to working and paying for their own needs?

Jesus will do that for you now. But remember when Peter asked if he needed to pay taxes? Jesus had him GO FISHING and the coin was in the mouth of the fish. He did not just hand it to him. He had him go work. Also Paul said if a man does not work, he does not eat. So you are mistaken that Jesus will just hand you daily needs while you do nothing.
I don't know how it is in Australia, but in the US if you can not work due to age or illness- there is some help. But if you can work and don't wont help yourself- and want to be an added burden to society- you have a problem. So tell me, why don't you have a job or do you?
Homelessness must be difficult. Don't you have any family? Does your country have aid? What is this about people should just give you stuff?

Thank you for your question.

How about, what is wrong with able-bodied people working to support themselves?

As for those that have difficulty supporting themselves, Jesus commands disciples to feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, shelter the stranger, clothe the naked, tend the sick, and visit those in prison. In other words, helping others with the basics is a personal responsibility for each of us, not a government responsibility.
