And when he had said this, he breathed into them and spoke to them: Receive the Holy Spirit!
Is the spirit air?

The Holy Spirit is God. God is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit like the Father and the Son is a Divine Person in the Trinity.

The Holy Spirit below does things that only a person can do,

He leads (Matthew 4:1).
He is called God (Acts 5:3-4).
He helps and comforts (John 14:16, 16:7).
He convicts of sin (John 16:17).
He gives testimony of Jesus (John 15:26).
He teaches, guides and brings to remembrance (John 14:26, 16:13).
He speaks and instructs (Acts 8:29; 10:19; John 16:13).
He hears and speaks (John 16:13, Acts 28:25-27).
He can be lied to and tested (Acts 5:3-4,9).
He sends and gives life (Acts 13:4, John 3:6, Gen 1:3).
He is a witness (Acts 5:32)
He restrains (2 Thessalonians 2:7).
He prevents (Acts 16:6-7).
The Spirit "said" to Philip and Peter(Acts 8:29, 10:19).
Peter said he was "told" by the Spirit (Acts 11:12).
The Holy Spirit "solemnly testifies" (Acts 20:23).
He made some of the early Christians overseers to shepherd the Church. (Acts 20:28).
He wills (Acts 13:2).
He interprets our prayers (Romans 8:26).
He knows and communicates (1 Corinthians 2:11; Romans 8:27).
He reveals (Ephesians 3:5).
He has a will-He decides, chooses and distributes the Gifts to the church (1 Corinthians 12:11).
He can be grieved (Ephesians 4:30).

hope this helps !!!

Yes, of course it is, that's why it's called the Holy Spirit, because it's air.
Now, it may not be like New York City air, Shanghai, Columbia or Tokyo, but it's more like a rural air, and less a metropolitan air.

It is of The Spirit, the other dimension than our earthly dimension.

John 3:6
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
KJV

Right there, by Lord Jesus, you have His declaration of the existence of two different dimensions of existence, the flesh (earthly material world), and then spirit (heavenly realm).

Ecclesiastes 12:5-7 shows these two different realms also when speaking of what happens at flesh death. Our flesh goes back to the ground where it came from, but our spirit goes back to God Who gave it. Mentioned there is the event of a "silver cord" being severed when that happens, suggesting that "silver cord" is what connects the two bodies together while alive on earth.

1 Corinthians 15, Apostle Paul goes into detail about the resurrection body, which he declares is a "spiritual body", one made of spirit.. He also said that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, neither does corruption inherit incorruption (1 Corinthians 15:44-50).
