here is an example . Of course its not the only sin but here is an example for you .
Lets say i came to a church . And the preacher was telling me
HEY GOD does not accept your sin of homosexaulity .
SO then i leave and find another church WHO then says to me, HEY GOD is love and homosexuality is not sin
GOD accepts it and you who pratice it . SO I STAY .
TELL ME , DID I COME TO JESUS or did i come to another jesus WHO ACCEPTED MY SIN .

Sin is from our nature which is the only part that MUST be born again NOW - our spirit and soul which together is our nature. It is our nature that Jesus cleanses our past sins. But how many know this? Most believe in a weak little baby Jesus who isn't able to cleanse the source of our sin. The sin nature came through Satan's hold on Adam because of his sin, but my Jesus defeated the works of Satan, 1 John 3:8-9 "8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. It is because of the church fathers at the beginning of the Reformation who did not read the Word in context. Romans chapters one through eight is one teaching on the Old Covenant vs. the New Covenant (the gospel), which is Law vs. Spirit. They took verses in chapter 3 through 5 (4 especially) and believe we are no longer under the law, and God does not hold our sins against us. If they had studied chapter 6 they could have come to a different conclusion, and the last of the teaching, chapter 8 and come to a holier conclusion like John Wesley did. But Calvin, or whoever created the T.U.L.I.P. doctrine, started with us being total depraved even after becoming a Christian, so all Christ did was take away our punishment, instead of taking sin out of our nature. They teach we have two nature, but the truth is we are NOT in the flesh (our sin nature) but in the Spirit, IF one has the Spirit of God in them. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ he does not belong to Christ.

Read Revelation 3 and see what Jesus thinks of the Reformation. Verse 1 is talking to the beginning of the Reformation (Calvin and Luther) and Jesus says to them, "you have a name (reputation) that you are alive but you are dead." Then go on and you can see John Wesley in verse four. "But even in Sardis you have some who have not defiled their garments and walk with me in white." That is the beginning of the holiness movement, and precursor to Pentecostals. Poor John Wesley would be rolling over in his grave if he saw what has happened to Methodists allowing practicing homosexuals to be among its leaders! That has created a church split.
