could there be or have been a another or better way than 'the way'

it seems not for He who knows the beginning and the end pronounced 'the way' as very good

imho it seems no other or better way is/was possible - how about you - any comments - twinc

Well, I will never say something is better, per se...
But, I believe some here may be unaware of these words 'of instruction' from way before Jesus:

He who perceives Me everywhere and beholds everything in Me
never loses sight of Me, nor do I ever lose sight of him.
Ch 6v30

But those who fully worship the unmanifested,
that which lies beyond the perception of the senses,
the all-pervading, inconceivable, fixed, and
immovable-the impersonal conception of the
Absolute Truth-by controlling the various senses and
being equally disposed to everyone, such persons,
engaged in the welfare of all, at last achieve Me.

Ch12 v 3-4
Whoever offers me with devotion and a pure mind, a leaf, a flower, a fruit
or a little water – I accept.
Whatever thou doest, whatever thou eatest, whatever thou offerest in
sacrifice, whatever thou givest, whatever thou practisest as austerity,
do it as an offering unto me.
Ch 9

To those who are constantly devoted to Me and worship Me with love,
I continue to bestow upon them devotional inspiration by
which they may come to Me.
Ch 10v10
Out of compassion for them, I appear in their hearts and destroy
with the shining lamp of knowledge
the darkness that is born from ignorance.
Ch 10v11
Remember Me at all times and fight.
when your mind and understanding are directed toward Me,
you will come to Me, there is no doubt.

Ch 8v7
-the Bhagavad Gita

Then, you have the way of many Indian teachers or mystics...which is very effective, but gives one a headache, hahaha, because the egoic mind fights it so much! :D...they could be explained well in the book,
"The Direct Means To Eternal Bliss"...it's all pretty much the same thing...
Summary: Focus on God, Pure Awareness, the One Consciousness...that which is looking out
from your eyes,
making your fingernails grow while you sleep.

So, other cultures have their ways.

other cultures do not have their ways since there is only one way - Christianity is the end of the road - the end for all seekers by the grace and mercy of Christ = all non Christians are and will be born again as Christians because Christ is the Saviour of the world - twinc

There is really only one Way to God, wherever it is written and whatever it may be called.

"...This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him." Matt 17:5
How does God speak to men? Has He not sent many messengers [angels] to men over the centuries? Are all of them described or even mentioned in the Bible? Who am I to say otherwise?

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." Isaiah 55:8-11

btw the Bhagavad Gita is only part of the whole for there is also The Upanishads and Rig Veda but what has been missed are The Puranas = the old teachings imho - twinc

The Hindu religion was originally a monotheist religion. Hindus claim their religion comes all the way from Creation and as such it is the oldest religion, and this is essentially true, but around the time of Buddha they lost their way because no one had a personal intimate relationship with God. Buddha sort to find the answers as to why they should add idol statues of the Persian Kings to worship in their temples, but he did not know how to approach God to find the answer. As a result the "religion" of Buddhism came into being.

If we do our research, we will find that the Hindu religion was established in India by Abraham's third family which he had trained up in the ways of worshipping God before he sent them away to the east. This third family were known as an Arian people. Incidentally, one strand of this family travelled down to the Sinai area to wait nearly five hundred years for Moses to come out of Egypt to meet with Reu'el, i.e. Jethro, his father in-law, a priest and friend of God, to spend 40 years with, to learn about the things of God. Abraham sends away his third family around the year 1980 BC with gifts before he died. In the 5th centenary a Persian king sends idols of himself to India to worship. This is confirmed in the Book of Esther.

As such many of the Hindu rituals have a very Jewish characteristic, and this can also be found in the very early writings of the Hindu religion.

However, with time the idol worship has taken over during the last 2,500 or so years and it is now a very corrupt religion from a Christian perspective.

Shalom
