Are we living in the end times?

For as long as I can remember there have been people saying that we are living in the end times, that the Armageddon is near, that Christ is returning, that the end of the world is upon us.

It seems like there have been people saying this in every generation since Christ. Even the apostles thought that they were living in the end times. Yet it never happened, the world kept on going.

People say that we live in dark times but we actually live in a peaceful world if you look at history and compare it to the world before WW2. Before then there was always wars, several wars happening all around the world at once. Europe and Asia especially always had wars between neighbouring kingdoms all the time with borders constantly being redrawn. Today is relatively peaceful in comparison.

On the other hand the fact that many nations posses nuclear weapons means that the end of the world as we know it can happen very quickly without much warning. A world war between Russia or China and America could result in a nuclear war that could turn continents into a thermonuclear wastelands. It may even occur through a computer virus or bug that unintentionally launches nuclear missiles.

What are your thoughts?
Are we living in the end times?

Paul doesn't say the end times will last 2,000 years. He appears to be saying that the ends of ages was coming soon, in their era.

I suppose my question should of been will the end of the world occur in the next 10 years?

Great question! IMO, there are 2 ways to look at it.

1. AMBIGUOUS/METAPHORICAL. Jesus ushered in that part of Isaiah that we are in the ‘year’ of the Lord’s favor.

This Age is before the ‘end times.’

2. Revelation 6. Some prophecy that we are living through Revelation 6 with the release of the Black horse expected by years end.

After the Apocolypse, there is supposed to be a 1,000 year rule with Christ. So, depending on what end you are referring to, we have a ways to go.

No, but possibly within the next 1,050 solar years, but I am not counting that I will still be alive then, but I will be resurrected to face my judgement for my life and actions.

I find the book of Revelation so hard to read. I don't know which parts are literal or which parts are metaphorical. I don't have the wisdom to understand it and people have different interpretations of it. I don't know what to make of it

No doubt, Revelation is the most difficult book to understand in the Bible.

I actually got a book written by a Rabbi to more deeply explain it. With so much symbolism and cross-references, there is no simple way to summarize something inherently complicated. As I recall, he broke up the book into 3-4 parts.

Everything speeds up toward the end, like a ball rolling down a slope. All anyone has to do is look back on your life and see what has changed, what technology has changed, what transportation has changed, what food has changed (GMO).

Revelation is symbols, images, and prophesy's. You cannot read much literal into it. John writes future, past, and present within the same paragraph.

It depends if you see the bible and the unfolding of the events as a Dispensationalist with a pre-trib rapture that leads to a 1000yr reign. Or if you see I like I do, from a Covenant Theology perspective, as a partial preterist and an idealist view of the future. I don't see the book of Revelation written chronologically, I see it as a recapitulation of events told over and over again from different angles. Otherwise, if you go from a chronological standpoint, chapter 12 is problematic.

So, personally, I see that we have been in the "end times" since Christ's ascension into the clouds the first time.

Anyone alive after 1 Cor 15:51-52, 1 Thess 4:14-17 will experience & learn about Revelation VERY quickly
Hopefully this helps :-

I would say that we are living in the best times ever of all History !

only problem is in dealing with Sin ! That's the real foundations of reality.

Look at all of the Christian Church denominations are an abomination in fact ! even Idolising Sin nowadays ! for fear of what ? The Mob ! and what the Mob Idolise ! Sin !

Man's Sins brings on the end of times ! because we do in fact reap what we sow ! period !

How many Nuclear bombs have been set off ? 1000 to date knowen of.

If Iran wanted to get Nuclear bombs, Fact was that they would of got one droped on them first ! That's a fact ! so reality is that, we have went all about this, in fact the real nice way !

Criminal Jerk dictating Governments lording it over the people have to be called out !

Thank God for Trump, that we are making a better world for the future, for everyone !

Socialist Governments have only sat back and let all criminals have their way like a white ant slowly eating away all of the foundations like a Cancer, that is clearly making the people sick in every way, Moraly bankrupt and poisioning peoples minds with nothing but deranged filth and outrigh stupidity !

My thoughts have to do with the big picture, and the timing of events spoken about in the Bible.
We have to understand time from God’s perspective rather than from a human perspective....

According to Peter, God counts a thousand years as a mere day...(2 Peter 3:8)
We have a very different view of time that makes it seem like God’s plans are taking forever...

To understand why God operates in a different time zone to us, we only have to look at what happened in Eden...the first rebel was not human, and those who dwell in that realm with God, operate under that timeframe....his address to the problem of disobedience begins with an angel who persuaded the humans to obey him instead of God......the real culprit had to be dealt with primarily, because he is part of God’s heavenly family and other angels were observing what transpired in Eden, and perhaps wondering how God was going to handle this situation....?

How God dealt with the issue of the abuse of free will, affects all of his children, both in heaven and on earth.

Prophesy sometimes brings things into a better perspective.
For example.....have you compared Revelation with the prophesies in Daniel.

Daniel detailed a march of world powers that would begin with Babylon, and end with the kings ruling at the time of Christ’s return and the coming of God’s Kingdom.

Daniel ch 2 outlines what happened when Daniel interpreted a dream for the Babylonian King...one given to him by God, but it would affect the rest of humanity down through the ages.
He was shown the next world, powers in the form of an image that is made up of different metals in descending order.....but when we get to the feet of that image, we see another element comes into play....not another metal but a substance that does not mix with any metal....clay.

Daniel identified Babylon as the first world power of that prophesy...he went on prophetically to mention Medo-Persia who conquered Babylon, then Greece under Alexander the Great, who conquered many nations...Rome followed with its iron like grip on the world, but fell due to its own decadence, allowing Britain to take its place on the world scene. Britain as we know conquered many nations and subjugated them bringing them under British rule. Fast forward to the World Wars of last century and we then see an alliance with Britain and other nations that it colonized. This then formed the feet of clay that Daniels’s prophesy spoke about...most involved in those wars were the two prominent opposing “Kings”...the ones Daniel called “the King of the North” and “the King of the South”....these are not individuals but represent opposing forces in this world.

Daniel 2: 44 speaks of a greater King who will annihilate all other kings.....but not until the rulership of the last “kings”....the ones who rule our world today....

“And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that shall never be destroyed, nor shall the kingdom be left to another people. It shall break in pieces all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, and it shall stand forever.” (ESV)

We are deep into the time of the end.....something is going to trigger a serious confrontation....the world is in a big mess and we are all paying for men’s egos.

Just read it, and pray. Holy Spirit will bring it back to you at the right time and open your understanding.

First of all, I don't talk about nuclear war or World War III.I said that Japan and the continuous impact of sewage discharge in the sea.It is beyond human endurance. As the Bible says, the source of water. It's polluted. This is only physical. On the spiritual level, the source of the gospel has also been polluted. So our time is reallyClose to what the Bible describes. The period of destruction.Looking for you still thinkWhen it is safe and peaceful,Then at that time, at some point, When you least expect it,sudden destruction came.
Just like a proverb, a frog is boiled in warm water. When the water temperature reachesAt the boiling point,The harm that our time has done to the world is increasing exponentially. Not what you think.More than 10 centuries ago,The end that those believers think will come.in shortThe only thing to be thankful for is thatThe world we live in.Not yet.At that last moment,

the continuous impact of sewage discharge in the sea
In western nations the days of letting raw sewage out into the ocean are long gone. We have sewage plants. The sewage system has its own pipe lines, seperate to rainwater pipelines. These sewage pipelines go to the sewage plant where it cleans the water before it goes out sea. So our waters aren't so polluted.
