There are rules for interpreting Scripture. One of the rules is that there is no subsequent and previous in Scripture. If event A is described before event B, this does not prove that event A happened before the time of event B. God views time differently than people. God has everything together: past, present, and future. He sees everything at once.
In order for you to learn to understand the times of events indicated in Scripture, you must first understand the logical relationship between all these events. You must understand what are the causes and what are the consequences. You must carefully look at the pointers that are in the compared passages of Scripture.
The events of Gog of Magog definitely refer to the time after the Millennial Kingdom. This is according to Revelation. And the events of Gog in the prophecy of Ezekiel also cannot refer to the present time, because now there is no condition: the safety of the population of Israel. In all the years of Israel's existence since 1948, the Jews have never felt safe there. Wars and intifadas followed one another.
As for the Third Temple, described in chapters 40-48, this is a necessary condition for the return of the Jews. And the 37th chapter cannot be fulfilled without the construction of the Temple. Because there the two sticks in Ezekiel's hand symbolize the Jews and Christians.
The "two witnesses", Judaism and Christianity, will come to life only when the Third Temple is built. And then the Millennial Kingdom will come, during which human tradition in religions will be destroyed, and this is shown as the death of the horde of Gog from the land of Magog. This process can continue for a long time, but Revelation paints the finale, when the hordes of Gog will be finally condemned by fire falling from Heaven.
