I got to thinking about a common problem for believers today, it is regarding bearing the fruit of the Spirit. Too many believers (myself included) do not bear the fruits of the spirit or bear much less than they should. What is the solution to this problem? What causes us to bear the fruits of the Spirit? In another teaching that God gave me I started thinking about how a plant bears fruit. I did some research and fruit always starts as a flower. The flower must be fertilized (via pollination) before it can bear fruit. The fruits of the Spirit are: love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. So what are the flowers, the precursors to the fruits of the Spirit? I believe they are the promises of God! We can not bear the fruits of the Spirit without believing Gods promises! Also I believe the process of fertilization is faith. We also can not bear the fruits of the Spirit without faith in God, the promises of God (the flowers) can not become fruit without faith!

This teaching shows that the root cause of not bearing the Fruits of the Spirit is ultimately unbelief in God's promises! If we can get the word of God in our "knower" this will ultimately lead to us bearing the fruits of the Spirit that we should!

Amen, I agree with your allegory!

Belief in God goes with reverence for Him, and every pivotal choice we make based upon those beliefs in a direction that pleases Him brings us greater understanding of His meanings.

It is not always easy to obey the promptings of the Spirit. I confessed to a lie at risk of significant punishment several times over my life, hating myself for having lied to begin with every single time.

I didn't always escape the punishment, but God has always been merciful to me for the repentance I have practiced. In fact, some of my gravest mistakes seem to have resulted in the most amazing blessings.

The more lies in our lives we uproot, the more fruit we are able to bear. The only way to combat lies is to take the truth to heart by reading the Bible, quitting sin, and praying in truth and sincerity.

God honors those who call upon Him in truth in sincerity, of this I am certain by accumulated personal experience of the assurance of His love.
