Hello to you and welcome to this post.
In this day in age there are many different denominations and churches out there in the world. From Jehovah Witness, Catholic, Baptist, Pentacostals. All I know that there are people whom are trying to seek to know God. To learn, what the Bible does say is a very good thing. Learning is what teaches one to know something especially know things about God and Jesus Christ, along not only with these two. However, the nation of Israel, the Holy Spirit, and even promises of God that are available to you as a believer in the Gospel of Christ which is the Life, death, burial and resurrection.
These are some of my own individual notes on this particular section of Scripture
Matthew 9:30 - 50 (Note there may be spelling mistakes and errors.)
Having left the scene with the Father of a child which had an unclean spirit which was cast out by the Lord, which the disciples could not cast out. The last thing they asked Jesus about was how could they not cast out the spirit, in reply He said to them it requires prayer and fasting.
By praying asking God to help, such as the unbelief of the man who brought the boy to be healed by the disciples. Also abstaining from food, in most cases, fasting can also be from our own daily activities as such to something you may end up overdoing, that it starts to effect your relationship with God. This could deal with our mind, thoughts, emotion and individual will. This will help in clearing out whatever may be clogging or stopping the pathway from you and God to have relationship together. God is love, and he is a mighty, refuge, in wisdom, and in strength a great help in times of trouble, a truly loving and giving Father.
Here in Mark 9:30 It ays having gone forth there, they were passing through Galilee, and He did not wish that any may know,
Therefore they are now left out from the scene we see with the Father with the child and they are now traveling onward through Galilee, and He did not wish any may know.
There he would teach his disciples, privately.
In the private area were they could be alone, Jesus took the time to teach the disciples again for the second time. In Mark Chapter 8, Jesus talked with them about the same this very same thing. That he would be delivered over unto the hands of men, and they will kill Him, and having been killed the third day He will rise,
These were pictures and types for them, to understand their own death, burial, and resurrection in and by the Holy Spirit when it would be given in Acts 2. The disciples too would be delivered unto the hands of men, and they would kill them, they would be resurrected in believing in the Lord Jesus Christ. On the Third day, God would rise the Lord. Newness of life is given in the new Creation that is a believer, and follower, and trusting in Him.
The disciples did not understand what Jesus had taught them, and they were afraid to question him.
Then Jesus Christ and his disciples came to Capernaum, and being in the house, suggestive Peter/Simons home. While there in Peters home, He asked them “What were you reasoning in the way among yourselves?
Matthew 18:1 is in the same manner yet, it speaks about how the disciples end up asking Jesus who is the greatest in the kingdom.
After asking in Marks account they were silent, for they reasoned with one another in the way who is greater; The Disciples were humans, with different working backgrounds, on a tax gather, one a fisher, one a physician. They also had different personalities, they believed Jesus has come to be come the kingdom Jerusalem, and that they would be released from the oppression from the Romans, and the Pharisees and scribes. Jesus would be the king of the earth and they were talking among each other who would be the greatest in this kingdom they believed Jesus Christ was going to become in the earthly carnal mind. They did not really understand about the things he said when He talked about his death, burial, and resurrection either, Judas ended up selling out Christ because he did not truly desire to serve him, but instead served himself in the end he killed himself due to regret.
