Except that the point of the good Samaritan parable was not about salvation.
It's all you care about..being "saved"...but those who seek to save their life will lose it.
....there is nothing there about the good Samaritan being saved unto eternal life.
Of course not...only Christ brings eternal life...but He ACCEPTS the Samaritan...far more than lip service people who claim to be His followers.
The point of it was a lesson about hypocrisy, nothing more than that.
False. It's about DOING the will of the Father. The hypocrisy is apparent with all who seek justification.
saved from the POWER of sin...INTO holiness. Yes, one must be in Christ to know Him and the power of His resurrection. And a good lesson it is, but it's not a teaching about salvation. Someone may attract the favour of God, like Cornelius........but they still need Christ in them to be saved.
To elevate a righteous man into perfection in Christ.God went to to a lot of trouble to see that Cornelius heard and received the gospel.
