I'll address this more fully over the week end, but will offer this one thought. If someone pinched my car and I came across it 15 years later and I entitled... Under law... To claim it back?
Now ask yourselves, what if someone sole your house? Your land,? What about your entire country? How come we would take our car back and be lawfully justified in doing so, but are expected to share stolen land?

And in thinking about your analogy, which i thought was a good one, it needs to be adjusted to mirror the same time.
15 years isn't what we have here, its 200...

So now we're trying to claim back a horse carriage that was stolen 200 years ago buy someones ancestor from someones ancestor...

U are funny....yes there is a bloke over here that makes fun of NZ and OZ accents for example when they say, regarding the COVID, the word 'test'...it comes across as teesst..and he goes off and repeats it again and again and laughs. Now I have lost some of the ways I used to pronounce some words such as 'pro-gress'..it comes out as prog-ress as most over here say it.. and then I found out that 'route' is only used over here for a road or direction..not the dirty word as in root....it's funny about accents...and because I can mix it up a bit I became sensitive to all the various accents in America...many deny they have one in the States,,,and they surely do...I just have to hear them speak a few sentences and I can tell the region of the country where they came from..even the Canadians..... most of the time...

In Oz there isn't many differences. Im guessing same in NZ are just some subtle diffs...
In Adelaide and Perth they say dance and chance in a posh kind of way like a poms would
America has a wider range of accents than us... I know that New York talk and the Texas cowboy style... U would know more

Trains, ships, cars, planes is why we see much less variation in the new world

Canadians are hard for us to pick. Americans can spot one better than we can.
Around the lakes they have big towns near the border. I wonder how much different their speech is

But every time iv met a Canadian i've been waiting to hear the one different phoneme that i recognize and.
When it finally comes out i can't help but remember this and burst into tears...
Its a 40 second clip from the show South Park... Yes i know it isn't the holiest show to watch.
The short clip has minor swearing so i didn't post it up... But its a crack up...
Americans picking on these Canadians over their pronunciation of one word...

You know when I said I went down to NZ in 2008 with my wife, it was not just for vaca...it was also business...I was on the heels of getting a job with the NZ government...I was a shoe-in especially since the main interviewer was from my town and went to the same primary school...a few years ahead of me....I was going to work as an 'American' with the Kiwis for an ongoing hush communications voice and data spying program in the Pacific..ease-dropping on places like China etc...part of the 5-eyes octopus net....my wife got cold feet at the 11 hour..oh well..

speaking of language again,,,Backlit and I had several post exchanges a couple of years ago where we just wrote mainly in Kiwi slang back and forth,....I guess not many viewers understood it.as they did not interrupt it..its like another language that I do not use today....

Look at it this way you have Cook come to Australia and cook gets a abo pregnant, not who is this child, well for one it is not an aboriginal it's is half both. it has no rights to claim that it is an aboriginal. because it is in fact not truly one.
