not it basically means….
scripture alone says it is exactly what?

Why don't you tell us, then we can take it from there.
The Egyptians were big on making statues and carvings of their freak show "gods"..:)

Monotheism = one God.

Jewish monotheism - one person, the Father.

The earliest Christians were Jewish monotheists. Like Jesus himself, their God is the Father and none other.

I wish that there weren’t such a thing as trinitarian monotheism but there is.

That’s right.

That would be Jewish monotheism.

That would be trinitarian monotheism.

If you haven’t already, you should take something for it.

The Trinity isn’t the Messiah’s God.

How do you understand the Holy Spirit?

How do you understand the Holy Spirit?

Personal, but not a third person.

The operational presence and power of the one God.

The Father’s Spirit, extended through the resurrected Messiah to believers.

I see a very close connection in scripture between “spirit” and “mind”. For example, Jesus said his words are spirit. We’re instructed in scripture to have the mind of Messiah.

I told you they are not easy to pick out, but they are there. Of course the people it was primarily given to understood them fully, and now that we live in the last days when God's word of truth is rapidly being revealed, all we have to do is Google 10 Commandments and we can see an itemized chart. In fact I did that just the other day and here is what I found sir, I give it to you as it helped me in answering your question, perhaps it will help you as well:
The 10 Commandments
1. You shall have no other God’s before me.
2. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven images.
3. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.
4. Remember the Sabbath day and keep it Holy.
5. Honor your father and mother.
6. Thou shalt not kill.
7. Thou shalt not commit adultery.
8. Thou shalt not steal.
9. Thou shall not bear false witness.
10. You shall not covet.

Google must be Protestant
That’s a Protestant list

here’s the orthodox version

  • 1) I am the LORD your God: you shall not have strange Gods before me.
  • 2) You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.
  • 3) Remember to keep holy the LORD'S Day.
  • 4) Honor your father and your mother.
  • 5) You shall not kill.
  • 6) You shall not commit adultery.
  • 7) You shall not steal.
  • 8) You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
  • 9) You shall not covet your neighbor's wife.
  • 10) You shall not covet your neighbor's goods.

We are not to make any graven images, that is we are not to make idols of god, or if anything else and worship it. There are a few reasons why. The obvious is that we are to worship god alone. The second reason is often missed. We are idols ourselves. We were made in the image of God. We are to love our neighbors because they are also a reflection of Yahweh. We don’t need images of God because he’s a living God and he has already gave the world images that reflect him and that’s us living in life, love, hope and righteousness.

Aah Faith, now I see where you are coming from. I see why you questioned number 2. Like I said from the beginning, they are not easy to pick out. Jehovah's witnesses lump the last two together as the Google list I posted did. You may very well be correct in your accepting the Orthodox way, I honestly do not know. The tablets may exist today, but they're location is unknown to us. The only way to know for sure is to look at the tablets themselves. I am glad I understand the reason for your post sir.

But, taking it word for word, it just says we aren't to make images of anything. We do it all the time with TV, photographs, etc.:

"... or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth"

I've never understood that.

Probably reference to Egyptians gods there was one named Nu something like that the creator of the waters underworld etc so they believed.

Moses:
(National covenant)

Jesus Christ:
(Universal covenant)

World universal

Lk 2:10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. ( catholic universal) All men!

Lk 2:31 prepared before the face of all (catholic) people. All men!

Jn 1:29 lamb of God who takes way the sins of the world. All men!

Jn 3:16 for God so loved the world

1 Jn 2:2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. All men!

Lk 2: 10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. All men!

Hallo God. Nice of you to drop in and give us the wisdom of your wisdom.

Jesus Christ founded the new covenant church for the salvation of all men! (Jn 1:16-17) Christ is the truth! (Jn 14:6) Christ and his church are one!
(Acts 9;4 eph 5:32)
The church is the pillar of truth
(1 Tim 3:15) that must teach all men (Matt 28:19) without error guided by the Holy Spirit
(Jn 16:13) Thru the grace of God in the sanctification of souls applied in the seven sacraments!

Sacramental life: Jn 1:16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. Jn 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

2 Peter 1:11
For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Initiation into the new covenant must be ministered to you by the apostles!

There CANNOT be both!

Either Apostolic tradition in hierarchical authority which establishes truth, peace and order!

Or

Spiritual anarchy producing chaos and disorder!

Acts 16:17 The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.

Men show is the way of salvation?
