When you consider . . . their boats . . .

13 grown men in a boat that's something like 20 ft long, and it was getting swamped in the waves, and Jesus was sleeping in the stern?

This means He was apparently sleeping while sloshing in water, as everyone is all right next to each other.

Psalm 107
23 They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters;
24 These see the works of the LORD, and his wonders in the deep.
25 For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.
26 They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble.
27 They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wit's end.
28 Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses.
29 He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.
30 Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.
31 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

Jesus had absolutely no concern whatsoever. And though He chided them for their lack of faith, He still took care of them. And happened to demonstrate at the same time that YHWH was in fact standing in that little swamped boat.

Much love!

Your turn.

:)

I like this. Just clarify one thing. What should the disciples have done while Jesus was sleeping?

Have you seen those posters about keeping calm?

CHRISTIAN, DON'T PANIC. KEEP CALM.

As to the account of Peter walking on water we need to remember that Peter was always impetuous, and his first impulse was to want to walk on water just like his Master. And then he did walk on water for a while, but went into panic mode very shortly.

I see this account much the same as the Red Sea Crossing, being extremely definitive of the Christian life.

Our salvation is crossing through the sea, and our sanctification is walking on the sea.

I think Peter did just the right thing.

Much love!

Enoch you were so close! Okay, can't wait for marks any longer.

They should have looked at Jesus, got down and curled up next to Jesus and gone to sleep!

That is exactly an example of walking in the Spirit. We do whatever we see the Spirit doing. Jesus said He didn't do ANYTHING that He didn't see the Father doing in heaven. We are to do the same.

Too many times we take it upon ourselves to do something. This is especially true with men because it is in their makeup to fix things. Just look to the Spirit and follow His lead.
