studying Charity. (Paraphrasing what it seems to be saying to me)

Romans 14
I know and am convinced in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself; but him who thinks anything to be unclean, to him…it is unclean.

if your brother is hurt because of food,
(there is no debate); you so sin against Christ. (1 Corinthians 8:12

And you no longer walk according to the Spirit in Love (which is His strength) for Charity fails not, but according to the flesh(which is weak); when you hurt your brother because of food …you no longer walk Charitably towards your brother. (Fail in one point, you fail in all.)

Do not destroy your brother whom Christ died for, with your food.

The kingdom of God is not
Eating and drinking
But righteousness and peace.

it is him who in this way serves Christ, acceptable to God approved of men

we pursue the things which make peace and the building up of one another.

Do not tear down the work of God, for the sake of food. It is good not to cause your brother to stumble.

The faith you have,
have as your own conviction before God.

happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves:

either approving: the tearing down of the weak, for whom Christ died, persecuting the work of God …for the sake of food.

or either: approving Charity (Love): the Kingdom of God is righteousness and peace: the building up of one another.

happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves. Do we condemn ourselves in the approval of the tearing down another?

when you sin against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience…you sin against Christ. (1 Corinthians 8:11)

though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not Charity (not given for tearing down, but for building one another up),

I’ve become a brass or tinkling symbol.

though I have all prophecy—
understanding all mysteries—
all knowledge—
and though I have all faith to move those mountains…yet misuse Charity for tearing down instead of the building up of another
I am nothing.

whatever is not in faith is sin.
Do you condemn your brother to eat, what to him is unclean?

Do you not yet know, thinking you know something —maybe you need to become a fool that your might be made wise—thinking you know something but not knowing what you ought: that the strong ought to bear the weakness of those (yet) without strength.

do we please ourselves?

or do we please Him who:
While we were (yet) without strength, became weak that we should be made strong?

Each are to please his neighbor for his good edification (for this is the fulfillment of Christ)

For Christ, as you have read and believed,
Did not please Himself.
But it is written.
“the reproach of those who reproached you, fell on Me.”

What is written for our instruction (2 Timothy 3:16), is profitable unto righteousness. (Romans 15:4)

Through perseverance and the encouragement of the scriptures, that we might have hope. (2 Timothy 3:17)

Now may God who gives us perseverance and encouragement, grant you the same mind towards one another.

Let this mind be in you, that was in Christ.

Charity suffers long and is kind,
Charity envies not, and is not puffed up.
Knowledge puffs up.
Charity edifies one another.
Charity seeks not her own (but that of another), Charity is not easily provoked,

Charity Thinks no evil:
Philippians 4:7-8 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. [8] Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Charity rejoices in the truth.
While we were helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.

Charity rejoices in the truth.
God demonstrates HIS own Love (Charity) towards us…not with lips service…but in that while we were yet sinners (yet without strength), Christ died for us.

The verse of the day: 1 Peter 4:9-11
Above all keep fervent in your Love
For one another,
Because Love covers a multitude of sins.
be hospitable toward one another.
without complaint.
As each has received a (special) gift, so give: employing it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold Grace of God.

Whoever speaks, [is to do so] as one who is speaking the utterances of God; whoever serves [is to do so] serving by the strength which God supplies; So that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs glory and dominion always.

For God demonstrates His Love (Charity), in while we were yet without out strength
as the strong ought to bear those weak and (yet) without strength…He bearers us. (1 Peter 5:7)

On the subject of Charity Vicky, I would like to add this passage maam:
(Ephesians 4:27, 28) . . .neither allow place for the Devil. 28 Let the stealer steal no more, but rather let him do hard work, doing with his hands what is good work, that he may have something to distribute to someone in need.

Charitable people are a God send for sure.

thank you for always interacting. And for giving input and for suggesting the above passage. I didn’t want to take it out of context but study what you shared and the verses surrounding it, as a whole. Warning though…it is long. Paraphrasing what it says to me, which truly did help this morning.

I, the prisoner of the Lord,
Implore (to call, exhort, encourage) you to walk in a manner worthy, or that which you have been called.
With humility,
Gentleness,
Patience,
Showing forth tolerance (to hold up, bear with)

With the diligence God supplies, to the preserving of the unity of the Spirit by the bond of peace.

There is One body.
One Spirit.
One Hope.
One Lord.
One Faith.
One baptism.
One God and Father.
By which you are called. Over All, and through All, and in All.
Each one is given Grace, a measure according to Christ’s Gift. He ascended on High and Led captive a Host of Captives. And gave gifts to men.

But what does the expression mean except: He also descended low; and also ascended far above —that He might fill all things.
He gave Apostles.
Prophets.
Evangelist.
Pastors.
Teachers.
All He gave, for the equipping of the saints.
for the Work of service —let him who minsters, let him who serves [do so] by the strengthening which God supplies; toward the building up of the body of Christ.

Until we all attain,
To the unity of the Faith, by the Spirit by whom you are called, through the knowledge of the Son of God—toward (let us move on to perfection, the perfecting of His body—the stature of a mature man belongs to the fullness of Christ.

As a result
We are no longer to be children tossed about by the proud waves (Luke 21:25-26 the sea and the waves roaring; [26] Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.) carried about as the chaff meant to be taken in their own craftiness and be burned, by every wind of doctrine through the trickery of men. Men laying in wait to deceive, by craftiness, deceitful, scheming. —against the body of Christ. That they might tear down the work of God, and hurt their brother (neighbor)…as they did Christ. Of such where some of you, until at the right time While you were also without strength, God sent His Son that you might be made strong in the bond of Love.

Speak the truth in Love.
We are to grow up in all, unto Him who is given as the Head over the body, [even] Christ. From Who, as the Living Water of Life runs down from the anointed Head which is Christ, the Body fits together where every joint Supplies for one another that which is good edification—according to the working of the individual parts (All needful) towards the growth and maturity of the Body for the building up of itself in Love.

Affirm together with the Lord
What is good, What is right, what is charitable in the sight of God? Walk no longer, as gentiles walk —in the futility of their mind, being darkened, excluded from the Life of God because of ignorance, and hardness of heart. But when the time came…not to be excluded, the gentiles also have heard of the incredible deeps of Gods Charity. The great deeps of His mercy.

yet men have become callous. Waxed cold towards Love asking: what benefit(profit) is Charity to them. 1 Timothy 4:1-2 …giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; [2] Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

Having given themselves over to satan.
Licentiousness
Wantoness
Sensuality (Imo not pointing at homosexuals, but all men(and women) in the pleasing themselves against one another for the sport of pleasuring themselves, among themselves, that is to say (with) their own flesh), for the practicing of every kind of uncleanness with greediness. Not for the good towards their own flesh; but working that which is unseemly towards their own body. For the Tearing down—not given themselves to the edification of the body—but as they despise their brethren (Christ Jesus) they also despise God —that His body might be taken, that it might be destroyed from among them; they are those which prevent themselves, and they oppose themselves.

But you DID NOT learn Christ THIS way.
1 Thessalonians 4:9

God did not demonstrate His Love (Charity) in the withholding of anything from you, not even His Son. But instead while you were (yet) without strength, God demonstrated His Love by sending the Son that in Him you might be made strong in the bond of Love.

if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him, (1 Thessalonians 4:9), as the truth is in Jesus,

that in reference to your former manner of life…tearing down of the body, as you do so, you sinned against Christ.

lay aside the old self, as Christ Jesus has shown (2 Peter 1:12-13). Which is being corrupted as a cankerworm does eat, in accordance with the lust of deceit,

and be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and put on the new self (2 Peter 1:16-19) of God which in (Christ) was and is created in righteousness and truth…For the edification of one another, where the joints are held together—bonded together in Him—growing in maturity which supplies for the needs of one another —to the fullness of Christ. The body—a Tabernacle—Adorned with the fruits of the Spirit, for an habitation of God.

Lay aside: falsehood
Speak truth with your neighbor, for we are members of one another. Tempered together.

quench not the Spirit.
Be angry and do not sin, do not let the sun go down on your anger.
Do not give the devil —who comes except for the kill, steal, and destroy —do not give him and opportunity. Slanderous, accusing falsely the brethren.

He who steals must steal no more.
(Jeremiah 23:30), (Jeremiah 23:28), (2 Corinthians 4:2), let him instead labour performing with his own hands that which is good edification towards one another. So he might have something to share, as God supplies for the needs of one to another, that each part has something to give and is useful. Do all things by strengthening of one another, as God so supplies, to the strengthening in Love. As Paul said “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”

those who lack
Let those who have been strengthened in Love, bestowed even more honour on our least comely parts …that there be ..no rent ..within the body of Christ. But with the same care God has shown, declared, revealed towards us; let us walk in the same care one for another.

let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouths, but only such —handling of the word without deceit—let him who uses the word use the word faithfully—for edification according to the need (of the moment) so it will give Grace to those who hear.

do not grieve the Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption, which day is now.

put away:
Bitterness
Wrath
Anger
Clamoring
Slander
Along with all malice

Be kind towards one another
Tender hearted (as the Lord is tender and full of mercy), forgiving one another.
Just as God in Christ, has forgiven you.

Do you know who the 2 groups of Christians are Vicky? Jn 10:16

not for sure. By the text I would say those that had been (before)excluded; the gentiles. How the message was He came only to the lost sheep of Israel (first)but then the surprise when the Spirit came also unto gentiles. That they (surprise) had been included also. John 10:16 speaks of two becoming one. Where there is Neither Jew nor Greek, neither bond nor free, neither male nor female…but a new creature. To me, that is what John 10:16 is talking about. That God is not a respecter of persons but you must be born anew? Where those who are married become one flesh. Also those joined to Christ is made One Spirit. Other sheep I have not of this fold, I must bring them also. Prophecy? look guys, He goes to the gentiles —to tear down the middle wall of partition that two become One, with Him the chief corner stone. Ephesians 2:11-18 For through him we both (folds) have access by one Spirit unto the Father. (From John 10:16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.) One chief corner stone can no other man lay, than that which was laid of God and is Christ.

what do you think John 10:16 means? Who do you think the two groups are?

Many have labeled those two groups of Christians as Israel and Gentiles, which is kind of true, although people of all nationalities belong to both groups. Those of the fold Jesus was speaking about are his bride, the spirit anointed Israel of God, they are the ones he will make the covenant with to be Kings and Priests with him in the Kingdom, and will reside with him in heaven.

The other sheep, some have called Gentiles make up the bulk of Christianity, they are the ones who will be the earthly citizens of that Kingdom when it comes to earth. Those meek ones Jesus spoke of that would inherit the earth.

Does that make sense Vicky?

Would you like to practice some "charity" that is easy to do?
Then give to the poor.

See that dirty person standing at the RED LIGHT, on the curb, and their SIGN SAYS......>"HELP" .

no, it doesn’t make sense. Because “it is written Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondwoman, but he of the freewoman was by promise.

do you mean the two groups are:
Those born of the Freewoman are to reside in heaven.
those born of the bondwoman on earth?

Likewise, the Jews are to reside in heaven, although including some from all nations? (Not to be rude, how many in the Jehovah congregation, Kingdom Hall are Jewish? why the exception?)
The Greeks are to reside on earth?

Circumcised (reside in the heavenly)
The uncircumcised (reside on the earth, although New and restored into a paradise?)

Scycthian (heavenly)
The barbarian (earthly)

The free …born of the freewoman and of promise, resides in heaven.
The bond, and born of the bondwoman, reside on the new earth?

Male …to reside in the heavenly
Female …to reside on the new earth, restored into paradise?

you’ve mentioned being chosen for the New earth…are you saying you are born of the bondwoman …for Abraham had two sons…and that is why you’ve been chosen to reside on the New earth, and not called to the heavenly?

something interesting about Job …when he prayed for his friends …God restored him “two-fold” having increased him. How does that relate to Christ Jesus having been given two folds? Why any who suffer loss in this world, will restore (keep) his life, preserving it, not only in the life, but also in the life to come. Two-fold. Christ Jesus is given two-folds …that He might make of two One with One Shepherd…receiving double? How else could Paul speak so boldly as to say
1 Corinthians 3:21-23 Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours; [22] Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours; [23] And you are Christ's; and Christ is God's.
Two-fold…the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come;

Amazing (Imo) how exceedingly great riches God has given unto the Son; two-fold.

no, it doesn’t make sense.

Too bad maam. The truth is 144k have been redeemed from the earth to serve as Kings and Priests in heaven in the Kingdom of God. God made man for earth and the rest of His human people will reside here. That is what the verse indicates. If you would like to understand it, I would be more than happy to go into more detail about how God intends to fulfill the command for us to multiply and fill the earth. Adams sin did not cause Him to change His mind, rather simply delayed His purpose.

studying Charity.

Hi @VictoryinJesus I have long thought that Romans 14 is a much ignored chapter. There is currently a thread where some of the discussion on tattoos seems rather legalistic. (People should indeed be able to express themselves, though.)

We are discussing this in another place Vicky. The two folds are anointed Christians, and the citizens of the Kingdom.
