Just shaking my head..

When the church was first being formed it was in hostile territory.
A lot of the people were still trying to decide how are they going to survive this new Way?
They had the Religious Authority on one side and Rome's Occupation on the other.
Talk about a rock and a hard place.
Paul sent the churches which were mostly in peoples homes consolation and also directions as to how to live this new way.
They were up against a lot of opposition.
You stepped out of line you were either stoned or crucified or fed to the lions as sport.
And guess what none of those early Christians did. What were those directions Paul gave "as to how to live this new way" and how does it differ from what you and others have stated in this thread?

That was 2000 years ago.
Or perhaps 2 days as the Lord counts time sometimes. A day is as a thousand years.
The world has changed a lot since then.
The Church has grown, it's not the woman in the wilderness ready to give birth, It's already born now.
The foundations have been set.
And today we are building upon that foundation.

Up until 250 years ago, most of Christianity had been under oppression whether by a Pope or a King.
Again, a rock and a hard place.

A lot of these manage to escape and climb aboard ships that would bring them to a new land, a new world.
Where they could live the way Paul had given instructions, and the Bible as it's guide. Both old and new.
They were allowed to have their own bibles, and for the blessing of the printing press was able to hear the Word of God for themselves.
In 1776 America decided in order to have religious freedom from persecution from the Holy See, and be surfs to the King,
they fought a revolution to be Free and have Liberty to live the way the Kingdom of God should manifest itself in the world.
A light on the hill.

Today, we are coming under attack of losing all those things they fought for, traversed the Ocean for, learned to survive in a world they never been.
And this Nation made up of many Christians who fled persecution settled in and learned to defend what God had given them.

Tomorrow there may be no places of worship except those that are allowed. You won't be able to live the Christian life, you will have to bow down and live under other gods.
Your God given Rights will be taken from you. Your freedom will disappear. The Constitution will be no more than kindling for the fire.

All those things that made America great, will be another page in history long gone.

That's why we fight.
Because this country is a gift from God, and we won't let them take it from us.

We will not sell out our birthright like Esau did, just because we are at the brink of death, we will not Die.
We will Live Under God as One Nation, with Liberty and Justice for All.
And we will not compromise.

Too many sacrificed their lives so that we could be free.
And though they went before us, we will meet up again and we will sing the song of Victory!
So, once again, what did Paul say as a requirement for how believers are to live and how does that differ from what you're stating above? Yes, the world has changed, it always will, but does God's Word change or are we free to disagree with it and change it simply because the world changes?

You want to disagree with God's Word, give me warning so I can take cover.

You're the one who made certain claims and I'm trying to get clarification. To simply reply that I "want to disagree with God's Word," is disingenuous and a deflection from answering the questions I asked.

No. We need to help ourselves in worldly events, such is the meaning of so much Scripture: ask, seek, knock, buy a sword, give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, put God first AND all this will be given to you also, etc.

Let's talk about what Jesus said about Caesar, you know the cult about the Caesar dynasty calling themselves gods, keep that in mind.

Mark 12:14 And they came and said to him, “Teacher, we know that you are true and do not care about anyone's opinion. For you are not swayed by appearances, but truly teach the way of God. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not? Should we pay them, or should we not?”
Mark 12:15 But, knowing their hypocrisy, he said to them, “Why put me to the test? Bring me a denarius and let me look at it.”
Mark 12:16 And they brought one. And he said to them, “Whose likeness and inscription is this?” They said to him, “Caesar's.”
Mark 12:17 Jesus said to them, “Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's.” And they marveled at him.

versus

John 18:36 Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world.”

So, keep on promoting fighting teaching the things of Caesar, which are not of the Kingdom of your Saviour.

Not relevant. He will ultimately solve the problem of evil by violently throwing people into the Lake of Fire. He’s destined to be the most violent person of all time and he is our role model.

Just because Jesus didn’t use deadly force one time, doesn’t mean he won’t or we shouldn’t when it is called for - like in establishing a Christian nation.

Agh, Projection! The Islamic Jihadi's can kill in self defense but not the Judeo-Christians.
you actually said something very true when you wrote JESUS is gonna solve the problem of evil by throwing them into the lake of f ire .
Only you have no idea you are supporting that which is gonna bring down the wrath of GOD upon the ungoldy
Deniers of CHRIST . that sold us a lie that beleif in JESUS was not necessary and that all religoins are serving GOD

One might say his kingdom is not of this world but that will change in the future state. He is called "the king of kings" which means a political leader among political leaders - no matter what world.

Not the goal of Christian Nationalism.
Your leader is not Christ, but a political figure who represents the opposite of everything Christianity was meant to stand for.

A man defined by greed, vengeance, and self-interest has become the moral standard for a movement that still insists on calling itself Christian.

What should have been a religion of humility and sacrifice has transformed into an ideology of conquest and resentment in America.

What was unnecessary, showing what the discussion is about?
People are aware. Whether you agree or not.

Perhaps you should seek clarification. It seems, as previously, there are two discussions: 1) whether or not killing is always wrong and 2) whether killing in self-defense or defense of others when being persecuted is wrong.
No need for clarification. I know what the discussion is about.
It is very worrying that some in this thread who claim to be followers of Christ seem so willing to kill others and it seems that they would do it for any reason they deem worth killing for.
No one will ever reason with a strong pacifist.
They'll stand idle while an assailant.murfers their whole family before their eyes.
Until they're next.
No respect for the God given life of loved ones or themselves.

Likely, the reasoning is,it isn't a bad thing because they'll be in Heaven after.
They'll just have to explain why they, who God judges worse than an an unbeliever because they failed to protect their family, shall have to do explain how they got there.
Neither is the claim that God has commanded believers to kill others.
And this is why you don't understand what is being discussed.

Sure, some may believe that, but that clearly isn't going to work because they are going about it in unbiblical ways.
You deny God's word means what he says. That's unbiblical. And dangerous.
Agreed. I don't think they've really thought this through and it's largely because they don't seem to understand scripture.
That would be you. Interpolating scripture as a strong pacifist is in biblical.
You judge God. That's really dangerous.

It's so odd the lengths you'll go to deny it is righteous to provide ourselves what we physically need.
I think there are some who don't intend to be taken seriously. Their purpose is disrupting a discussion. No contributing with sincere respect for the topic.

How we are supposed to live and love and take care of eachother IN THE CHURCH doesn't change at all.
What did change was the world around the Church.
And over time those things that Paul admonished them for, explained concerning "citizenship" in the Kingdom of God, and His Church,
and what to beware of, and what to kick out if it didn't meet the requirements of Citizenship, had become infested with people who didn't Love God, who didn't love His Church, and who would not listen to His Word.

And what were those requirements?
Jhn 3:3
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
1Pe 1:23
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

That means leaving behind your old allegiances to serve another.

You want to be a Citizen of America, you have to leave your alliegence to your old country behind.
They are not compatible.

It's the same concept, just some people to ignorant to understand how Jesus is both King and High Priest, and that his Church lives under the Authority of only those he sets in place to lead them
In America's case we have a President which leads like Moses. The Executive Branch, and Executes the Laws that are written.
The Legislative Branch are those who determine what Laws are in the best interest of America.
NLT
Why, then, was the law given? It was given alongside the promise to show people their sins. But the law was designed to last only until the coming of the child who was promised. God gave his law through angels to Moses, who was the mediator between God and the people.

Can you see how America is designed to follow the foundation God set?

And then come the Judges, and this is the 3rd Branch of government.

They each work independently having their own limitations, and yet all fall under one Jurisdiction. The United States of America.

Interesting that we call them Branches,

Rom 11:16
For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.

So what is the Root of Our Nation?
Christ. Christianity.

It's been beaten up for a long time, it's been walked on, been living under a death sentence for awhile now.

God's Word never changes, it's just how you perceive it, and are given understanding to know exactly where you are in His Time Zone.

The word of God is multi layered, it means different things to different people depending upon how God is speaking to them directly.

Not everyone agrees that what the other guy said is gospel, because they get their own pep talk.
And when there is unity is when everyone agrees that God's way is the only Way.

You can either agree, or disagree.

But this Country America is ROOTED in JESUS CHRIST, King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
And Our Branches though worn and torn, are still holding on.
God Bless America

And oh how the nations rage..

This is what the Executive Branch looks like.

This is the Legislative Branch
The Speaker of the House

The Judiciary Branch
They kind of neutral. They Judge by the Laws that are written
Mostly outside the church. They Judge the judges.
Judge not, lest ye be Judged.

However,

This will Truly wedge some panties ready

Strangest thread ever. I hope no one is influenced by anything here. These are all emotional extremist views and ought to be ignored by any believer with discernment.

We're not called to force people to follow "Christian rules." We're called to spread the Gospel and each person has a choice in how they respond.
Here, you overly limit yourself. "We" constitutes the people of the nation as well as the church. This thread is NOT about we, the Christian church but we, the Christian Nation.
