I believe the best way to understand God's grace is to let Scripture interpret Scripture. Ephesians 2:8–9 (KJV) tells us that we are saved by grace through faith, not by our own works, so that no man can boast. But we must also consider Romans 6:1–2, where Paul asks, “Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?” and answers, “God forbid.”

To me, grace is more than God simply overlooking our sins. It is His undeserved favor toward us through Jesus Christ, offering forgiveness and salvation that we could never earn ourselves. That grace should lead us toward repentance, gratitude, and a desire to live according to God's will—not give us an excuse to continue in sin.

Titus 2:11–12 (KJV) says that the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, “Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world.”

So I believe the important question is not whether we can earn God's grace through our works, but whether we truly understand the grace He has given us through Christ. We are not saved because we are good enough; we seek to live righteously because of what God has done for us.

I welcome correction if I have misunderstood any of these Scriptures. My desire is to understand God's Word in its proper context, not simply defend my own opinion.

You cannot divorce the Bible from the Church that put it together. The Bible came out of the Church, for the Church. No one outside the Church can understand it correctly for themselves.

Just because all denominations say it does NOT mean they are correct. Use your brain

None of those denominations were founded by Christ, they were all founded by people. Mormons were founded by Joseph Smith, etc. The Orthodox Church is 2000 years old and can trace its way back.
