MatthewG, it's not about "reporting" the evil to anyone else. It's about alerting the person engaged in evil that they are endangering their eternal soul. That is, by definition, an act of charity/love. What is an act of selfishness is to be silent in the face of their evil actions, and allow them to go to hell, because you don't want to "upset" them or have them, perhaps, "not like you." Love is not an emotion, but an act of the will. Love is willing the good of the other, as other, without any strings attached. You want their good, for them. Period. And what is evil that needs to be reported? @Augustin56
A family who has abusive father in the household?
A Family who has a son who does drugs in the background?
I mean... there is alot to consider, and I know I done my fair share of evil just by and through thoughts,
such as murdering my mother, hating others, wishing death upon them, and what not.
I have also done my own fair share of drugs, and abuse towards others.
- It was only JEsus who ever changed anything.
Thank God for his mercy and how he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.

Some folks here have made the SOCIAL gospel their gospel . As for the lambs we are sticking to what JESUS and the apostels taught .Ditto
My friend , you hit it spot on right . Those who continually holler and preach this judge notMost people get this "judging" thing wrong because they take things out of proper context, or worse, try to twist it to rationalize some sin. In my long experience, those who keep harping on the "judge not, lest ye be judged" are doing something wrong and don't want anyone to say anything about it.
The judging thing is about judging the culpability of souls. We aren't to do that. No one can do that but God.
We are, however, to be "fruit inspectors," i.e., to judge actions. And we are our brother's (and sister's) keepers, concerned about their souls.
See Ezekial 3:18-21.
If I say to the wicked, You shall surely die—and you do not warn them or speak out to dissuade the wicked from their evil conduct in order to save their lives—then they shall die for their sin, but I will hold you responsible for their blood. If, however, you warn the wicked and they still do not turn from their wickedness and evil conduct, they shall die for their sin, but you shall save your life. But if the just turn away from their right conduct and do evil when I place a stumbling block before them, then they shall die. Since you did not warn them about their sin, they shall still die, and the just deeds that they performed will not be remembered on their behalf. I will, however, hold you responsible for their blood.
Sticking one's head in the sand in the face of someone we know doing evil or living evil has consequences. Harping on "Judge not" stuff will get you in trouble, unless you're talking about judging someone's soul vs someone's actions.
again , spot on right . Love is about doing all for the good , for the welfare of the other .MatthewG, it's not about "reporting" the evil to anyone else. Oh, it's not about forcing anyone to do or not do anything. It is about informing them about right and wrong. Once they are informed, your responsibility to God is over. It helps to be clever about how you inform them. Doing so charitably usually works better. But, in any case, something within us human beings happens when we hear objective truth. It resonates. Yes, some people still want to reject it, but it's there, accompanied by God's grace. Its all about the subjecitve life you live and what you see and experience …
You can tell someone not to
Smoke meth but they can choose to do it anyway….
Good luck imma stay off here for awhile

I have also found it more successful to pray for the person ahead of time, if can. Without a strong prayer life and connection to God, your efforts will not have the same effect. As the old saying goes, we go to God about man, before going to man about God. We have to have our spiritual house in order before trying to help others. Nimo dat quod non habet. That's Latin for, "We cannot give what we do not have." The faith is usually imparted rather than forced.
I recall the story of Malcolm Muggeridge, a famous British journalist, who had studied the faith thoroughly, but could never come to conversion. Then, one day, he was assigned to interview a then not-so-well known little nun, Mother Teresa of Calcutta. He only spoke with her about 10-15 minutes, and BAM! He converted! Why? Because she imparted the faith she had within her, to him! She had so emptied herself of self, that she became filled with Jesus.
That passage he quoted reflects judging things not people. Yes we are not to judge lest we be found as hypocrites and without mercy. Can you elaborate, on what you are quoting, @Rockerduck?
Is Jesus wrong, when he says to not judge others?
False. Look at verse 5. It says first remove the log (sins, errors faults) out of your own eye (life) and THEN you can go and cast out the speck out of your brother's eye. Remember 2 Tim. 3:16-17True or false?View attachment 33024
Horrible translation. You'd be so better off reading a translation written since you were born.Is Jesus wrong, when he says to not judge others?
