Colossians 2:16-19

You are right although it does not seem BF tried to hide his <sources>. There is nothing wrong with the Law for one's source of Divine Authority - Divine Law which never changes -- which is in harmony with Reformed Protestant faith and teaching and if you want to take exception to that, then you are the one at fault without a doubt in my ultra Reformed Protestant opinion.
SDAdventism as well as WCrucifixionism 'Sabbath-theology', diverge not a decimal degree from universal Christianity's, which is the ROMAN CATHOLIC stance of indoctrination and authoritarianism that SUNDAY-sacredness is based on and is rooted in, namely the DECEPTION THAT CHRIST ROSE FROM THE GRAVE ON A SUNDAY -- which SDA will defend with its very own existence.

It was a single Covenant. The 10 Commandments were just a subset of the overall Covenant of Law.

Prove it.

Why be accusative and exaggerative? Besides, everyone has an agenda. The fact that mofern western vernacular has made "agenda" a dirty weapon-word is inconsequential.

In reality, I would agree with you, that the 10 Commandments are distinguished in the Scriptures as a unique subset within the Law of Moses. It was written by the finger of God. It was brought down from the mountain by Moses, and he broke the tablets of the 10 Commandments when he saw all Israel was disinclined to follow the Lord.

But this only speaks to the uniqueness of this subset--not to its separation from the rest of the Law.

And Sabbath keeping, as well as the prohibition against worshiping images, were equally regulations, and not just "attitudes." Sabbath keeping was in fact an "ordinance."

You're confusing. 1st you admit that the 10 Commandments are part of the overall Law, and then you ask me to "prove" that the 10 Commandments are a subset of the Law? Why should I prove what you already admit is true?

If the 10 Commandments are a subset of the Law, and they are, then the command to "observe the Sabbath" is part of the Old Covenant, and not a requirement either for Gentiles, who never were under the Law, or for Jews in the NT era.

It really is your burden to prove the 10 Commandments are *not* a subset of the Law. They were given at the same time that the rest of the Law was given, in the desert of Sinai, right after Israel left Egypt. They were never said to be distinct from the Law.

After all, the 10 Commandments were even placed within the ark of the covenant, and were referred to as part of the same covenant. How on earth can they *not* be a subset of the Covenant of the Law of Moses?
