John 10:17-18 KJV
17) Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.
18) No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
Jesus had the power to lay down His life, and to take it up again, having received that commandment from His Father.
The power of life and death, by commandment of the Father.
Jesus did lay down His life, and He did take it back up again. His Father commanded Him, and He fulfilled that commandment.
We are commanded to Love. Rest assured that He has likewise given you power to Love.
