No other prophet was the Son of God. Jesus was not just a prophet.
No other prophet was given the authority that God gave his Son. (Matt 28:18)

At Deut 18:18, God said to Moses....
“I will raise up for them from the midst of their brothers a prophet like you, and I will put my words in his mouth, and he will speak to them all that I command him.”
When John wrote what Jesus said.....that ‘Moses wrote about him’, (John 5:46) what do you think he meant? How as Jesus a “prophet like Moses”?

My mother used to say...”if wishes were horses then beggars would ride”...it was an old saying but demonstrates that wishes don’t usually come true...we can certainly hope that a new year will be better than the last one, but realistically each year seems to bring its own problems.
We need God’s spirit to help us cope with whatever he allows.

Incidentally, did you know that the first month of the year was named after Janus, who was the god of openings and closings and of gates and doors? Seems like the pagans had a god for every occasion....

Absolutely we do. Jesus said the Spirit is our helper so he knew we would need him.

Yes the first six months are name after pagan gods, the next two after Roman rulers and the last four are just latin numbers. And also the days of the week are named for pagan gods too. Just can't get away from it in our world. But as the bible tells us we may be in the world buy not of it.
